Odin Archer
For @Lucia and @Kara - set same day as Into the woods, to grandma's house for Gent.

If he had thought the flat lands of the tundra were bad, he was utterly unprepared for the hills that lined the Fjord. Perhaps she had grown sick of slowing down for them or maybe she just wanted to scout ahead unhindered - but when their mother told them this was where they were sleeping tonight, and to stay put, the boy did not complain.

The trees were a foreign concept to the duo, the strange things that adorned their limbs, both fascinating and concerning. Who knew what they might be hiding? And while the sky seemed clear enough so far, the pelting rain of the tundra that seemed to come out of nowhere had instilled a wariness in the lad that inspired him to seek out some sort of shelter. No caves or burrows in sight, he decided they could make use of the fallen tree, supported in the fork of its neighbour - for what little shelter it might offer should the weather decide to turn.

Satisfied with his bed for the night, Odin had only closed his eyes for a moment he was sure! But Kára had wandered off and a strange scent filled the air. Pushing himself up into a sitting position, pale peach eyes surveyed his surroundings quizzically. What WAS that smell?

I'm slow and the worst, @Lucia also, the fish could either hit Odin or Lucia depending on how close they are

Odin was sleeping which wasn't really that surprising, the bigger sibling seemed to sleep a lot more of the girl. That paired with their mother going off the scout ahead without them gave Kára some more freedom than she was used to having. At first she had just looked around the small area around them, then quickly growing bored she had widened her radius again and again until she could find something remotely entertaining. This trip had been exciting at first with so many things to see and smell and learn about but the Archer girl had learned she didn't really like forests. They were crowded and suffocating and the branches pulled your fur if you got too close and the roots tripped your feet if you weren't careful.

Still when the girl had stumbled upon the banks of a stream her nose had curled in disgust before a mischievous grin spread. Grabbing the tail of the washed up dead fish she pulled her tongue back in care not to accidentally touch it and off she went. Tail up proud of her find Kára moved quickly through the trees until she came back upon the still sleeping form of her brother under the log. Perfect. With haste the pup pulled her body up onto the bough above him, placing her paws gently so as not to wake him.

Settling in to wait for Odin to wake up she had to smother the giggles that threatened to give away her position. Finally after what seemed like ages the boy woke and sat up looking around dumbly. Hoisting the slimy decaying creature over the log and hopefully directly at her brother's head Kára launched it.

@Aleris @Ryker you guys are still welcome to join if you'd like <3
not to self: lucia is 4 months old.

These were perhaps her favorite times; when the litter was brought outside of the territory to learn and explore. Lucia's newly-gilded eyes could not stop their wandering, and her nose went crazy with all the new smells. The further out they went, the more the terrain changed, and she did not mind that this trip was particularly long. That they were out so far only heightened her excitement. Gent nor her siblings were just at her side, the parent learning to loosen the leash despite the risks (real or imagined) present. Still, she knew that her father was not far at all, and that only served to embolden her more.

Careless of how far she distanced herself from her sister and brother she followed every fickle fancy, obliviously assuming that she had to savoir-faire to handle whatever this new portion of the world threw her way. Yet when, for the first time in her life, she came across wolves that were not of her pack, it wasn't as grand as she was expecting. In fact, as that familiar canine scent crossed her nose, so did something rank and her muzzle crinkled as she drew closer. She came just after Kara's stunt was pulled, the remains disappearing amongst the brushy grass, and the runt could only assume that it was these strangers that reeked.

So of course, it only made sense to inform them.

"Oh my god, you guys smell so bad," she declared loudly, lifting a paw to her nose as though she could block the scent. Did wolves outside the Springs not bathe?! The new ones never seemed to stink so much, maybe that was how Gent picked them?

Odin Archer

His dreams had been pleasant, of a place with nice flat ground and stars as far as they eye could see, so you could only imagine his displeasure at being awoken by a wet, slimy, stinking trout being dropped right on his head. As if that alone wasn't bad enough, peach eyes turned on his sister perched so merrily above his head like some sort of mongrel bobcat. His teeth were exposed menacingly and dark paws were braced just about ready to shake her out of the damn thing, a foreign voice came out accusing him of smelling bad. It would seem she hadn't noticed the fish being so cunningly dropped on him from above, perhaps he could alert her to the cause... but wouldn't it be more fun...? Where did you get to?

His displeased snort was cut short as the offending fish was spotted, snarl turning to a smirk as he reacted without warning. Fish retrieved hastily, the bloated body threatening to rupture, he ran towards the dark girl, tail waving playfully over his back. He had every intention of swinging his head to trout slap the stranger, coating her chest and flank in the same stink that now covered him. Then she wouldn't have anything to complain about!

Her prank was going exactly according to plan as the rotting trout bounced squarely off of her brother's head. At the exposed teeth and growl Kára had no other response but to laugh so hard she almost fell off of the branch with no assistance. Lowering herself closer to the log in an attempt to stabilize herself she crooned with laughter until the corners of her eyes began to tear up. Odin always had been particularly easy to prank and while he may get annoyed with her he never got outright angry like some of the adults did after having something smelly dropped on them.

Oh my god, you guys smell so bad.

Well, that was the end of the laughter. What was with all these other children walking around accusing everyone of stinking? Standing up tall on the log once more Kára's fiery tail flew over her back in defiance as an angered humph left her lips when they settled into a scowl. Ready to leap down and give the dark girl a piece of her mind the corner's of her mouth twitched with glee seeing Odin pick up the trout. As he took off towards her the girl left her perch to settle down upon the earth for a more comfortable spot to watch the show. Given how poorly the other had reacted to smelling the fish she was sure to throw a fit when she smelled like rot. Her prank was going even better than the Archer had originally expected.

The response was not at all what she expected. In a flash he was up on his paws, with something she instantly recognized as the source of such a horrid stench swinging from his teeth. A startled yelp hiccupped into the air, and her tiny body launched into full utilization of the only strength it had: speed. His head jerked and the trout whipped through the air, but she was able to dodge, leaping out of the way and turning back around as she landed so as to not lose sight of him.

Her tail flared upward, the girl uncertain if she liked this game or not. While a glimpse of the orange one just before this boy had lunged for her would have riled the girl into the monthling equivalent of a dominance struggle, he seemed nothing but playful and her nerves stayed settled. Still; she wasn't fond of the ammunition he was using. Were it mud or leaves they were slinging, she wouldn't have a problem getting into the game. That fish just her hurt her nose, though.

The thing about Lucia though, was she hated to lose in any capacity. Quitting or complaining about this sudden game was just what a scaredy pup would do, and that wasn't her. She waggled her rump and shot him a 'come and get me' grin before shooting off in an arc, aiming to swing just within reach before zipping off again. Hopefully, she could outpace him as she usually tended to @Aleris. If not, she'd just have to change the rules of the game like she normally did and tackle the bugger.

The fish had missed its mark and with the dark girl now focused on the elder Archer,  he would have to leave the next attempt up to his sister. The way she darted too and fro made it seem as though she had completely forgotten that here she was outnumbered, and he wasn't about to remind her with any sudden moves or gestures to @Kara, trusting she was enough in-tune with his intentions from the very first step he took towards the stranger.

Rather than pursue the girl (who moved far faster than he could ever hope to go), he held his ground, paws thumping the earth like some great drum, open-mouthed play growls punctuated by the waving of his tail over his bowed back just daring her to get close enough. Given the chance he would try to grab the girl about the scruff and hold her in place with a paw over her shoulder so his sister could get her with the fish, but before any such attempt was made, she would have to get close enough. His teeth clacked teasingly, trying to get her to come just a little closer. He meant no harm surely, with such a friendly whine and widely waving tail-arch.

Kara watched with disappointment as the stinky fish went flying through the air instead of landing on the dark girl who had called them smelly. Which, why did everyone keep saying that? She had been pretty sure her and her brother smelled just fine and clearly the smell was coming from the fish and not the children. Still, she was not one to dwell on what had not gone right and would instead choose to focus on what she could do to make her goals a success.

And so, when the other pup had gone flying around her brother in a large arc and Odin's mouth started gaping wide and waving to and fro Kara waited to make her mark. Slinking as quietly as she could on the forest floor - something she was still learning as she had grown up on the cool stone of the monadnock. Gathering up the tail of the rotten carcass, careful not to let her tongue touch anything other than the roof of her mouth she eyed the pair.

Counting on the aspect of surprise to be on her side the fiery child crept as close as she dared to the others before she sent the fish flying through the air once more. Cackling in delight at seeing the slimy thing sailing towards the pair Kara sunk down into a bow, rear end wiggling mischievously as she waited to see if it would hit its mark.
