Second week of August sometime.

Vague knowledge of a pack by the spring and an established friendly relationship with the pack further east was enough to send the mother into the fjord rather than through the ghastly woods, (where she previously would have chosen to travel on her journey south). It hadn't taken long for her son to begin to complain about his aching paws and just how hungry he was. Ever the sympathetic mother, Morganna's response was to simply laugh and remind the lad he still had at least another two weeks of this to put up with so he was far better off sucking it up and shutting his trap. A wry smirk offered to @Wraith to try and ease any discomfort he might have felt about her rather abrasive remark. They had to grow up if they were going to survive, and it would be a long journey if they constantly bowed to the needless demands of the youths in tow. A few aches and pains wouldn't kill them.

Besides, being on neutral ground wasn't enough to avoid an encounter with those who lived nearby, and his moaning was bound to draw attention. Finally, she allowed the children to rest, leaving them in Wraith's more than capable paws. She was going to scout forward and see which path was best to take, if any might bring them out at the base of the mountain or even by the falls, instead of spitting them out by the red-rocked creek. A familiar scent crossed her path and she smiled. It was fresh, he couldn't be too far away.

wow sorry x_x

The alpha was out and about with his children in tow. They were plenty old enough now that they could be trusted outside of the territory and away from his watchful gaze, so long as he or their mother were around should any of the trio need them. Initially, these outings filled him with anxiety, as did nearly every first that involved his children moving out of the bubble of protection he provided. By now, it was as casual occurrence as any, and he was able to focus on whatever it was that had brought him outside of the pack's range.

Today, he was seeking the herd of deer that had recently abandoned the springs. The pack was due for another hunt to fill their bellies and the caches, and it could be remembered that this particular group had with it two elderly creatures that could be easily felled. Instead of locating prey, however, the scents of several other wolves caught his attention. His thoughts snapped to his children, but the familiarity of one particular tracing kept him from prematurely reigning the youths in.

Guarded yet curious, he moved over the terrain swiftly. It wasn't until she was in his sights that it clicked complete.

"Morganna," he greeted, a small smile on the edge of his lips. Now he was all the more interested in what exactly was going on, and also more assured that he did not need to gather his litter and safeguard them against this little group.

"You're rather far North."

Morganna smirked when the voice spoke her name, "@Gent," she responded in turn, a chuckle leaving her chest as he stated she was rather far north, "South, actually, I live on th' tundra now, about 2 days north." Her tail gave a friendly wave, there was no need for animosity, all their other meetings to date had been good ones. "I'm headed back ter th' ridge though, taking th' kids ter meet their grandparents." An ear turned but caught no sign of her children so she could only hope they were still where she left them.

"How 'bout you?" she quipped back with a smirk, "Further east than I remember..." Although she had passed the scents more than once since the spring. She had to wonder if he was aware of the group of loners settled between them, and whether or not he had had any dealings with them. She only took note as they had passed them on the way up, but they had chosen not to move when it became evident there was a pack in the area, and they had been heavily scented not even half a day from her own borders. But there was so much more to worry about, like getting down to the willows and back again before the snows started.
