The girl felt a rush as her momentum made the black wolf come crashing down. She quickly managed to steady herself as the realization hit; landing astride his body with her teeth in his scruff, pressing just hard enough to hang on without drawing blood. It was satisfying to say the least. His complement only served to elate the girl further. Beautiful? ”Thanks!” It wasn't the reaction Rae was expecting at all, but she had floored him hadn't she? The woman stepped back, tongue lolling happily as she caught her breath. She took his every word seriously, nodding every now and then. The gears in her mind started turning as the man retreated; still explaining why the back legs were such a good target.

While Aeus readied himself, the paler woman began moving. Her mind was in a much better place now; devoid of rage and much calmer than she'd been to start. She'd already taken him down once, so there was far less expectation and pressure on her shoulders. Now Rae knew she could actually do it. She took in his body, circling wide and looking for a target. She had to stay away from his teeth; if her opponent got ahold of her she'd be in trouble, and there was no way she'd have the strength to get away without loosing skin. A head on charge was still out of the question. She would need to go for his sides or come from behind. Getting to that position was difficult enough on its own, much less determining what to do once she got there. For a few moments the girl was at a loss for what to do. Everything either put her in a bad position or required too much strength.

Huffing a little with frustration, she slowed. There had to be some way to get him off his feet. An idea was slowly beginning to form as her eyes locked on his flank. It would be a mean thing to do, for sure, but it would get the task done. She had to be careful not to leave any damage. Training dummy or not Aeus was her pack mate and a good friend. The subordinate turned from her companion, padding swiftly to her corner. This was gonna hurt, and she didn't even intend to draw blood. 'More aggressive' it would be.

Again Raela steadied herself, nodded to Aeus, and charged. She moved in an arc this time; attempting to maintain the force that she lost last time by turning. She'd taken his words into serious consideration. A well-aimed blow to that sensitive spot between leg and body would be all the student needed to make him coil back in pain. It was a pressure point, a weakness that need only be jabbed to get him off his feet. In a real fight she'd bite down with everything she had, but right now harsh forward pressure was all that was necessary. Her jaws would stay loose enough that if this worked, it would only give the man a scrape or a few little cuts. Ducking down as the chocolate fur drew nearer and nearer, Rae launched upward, all her force aimed right at that spot. Her upward motion coupled with his inevitable cringe would be just enough to get his paws off the ground, at least that was the plan. There would be no hope of budging him from that angle otherwise with her inferior strength. Once that far, she could shift her weight downward, effectively grounding him - or at least his back half. The attacker's eyes sealed shut defensively just before impact.

ITS SHORT AND SHITTY I KNOW XD

Raela leapt from her position, moving in a perfect arched bow to his side. She was gaining velocity and the urge to back away or protect himself came in stronger- this was going to hurt. He cringed and held his muscles tight to cushion the impact. She closed in, making the last final bounds to his hock. In a moment of slow motion, her jaws locked on his leg, the wrenching pain making his paw shoot up and coil to his side. He took a few quick recovery steps to the side on his three paws until he lost balance and crashed to the ground- the small girl still holding on. He let out a strained, "Oof!" as he kicked his leg out of its crunched up state. "V- very good Rae.." He coughed at the little cloud of dust he had managed to raise. Aeus let the woman take her time in getting back up, knowing that a successful attack can be breathtaking. "Are you ready to start two sided?" He asked, making sure she was ready to take on the challenge. If she agreed, they would start off slow and easy- making sure she got the defense fundamentals down. Assuming the girl would take him on, he divided the space equally.”Speech”

PP it up!

At first the girl was both impressed and shocked at the larger man's ability to stay upright. He cringed just as planned; the force of her attack and his abrupt lack of balance finally throwing the encounter in her favor just when the tawny girl was beginning to worry. Again they fell to the ground, but this time she released her hold fairly quickly. The woman's eyes scanned his leg; completely ignoring the pained grunt. Luckily she found no blood. Nearly elated from her success, the lady stood panting as he staggered out a compliment. Her tail waved high, swinging lazily behind the victorious woman. Yellow irises pierced the fading dust cloud, locating his face as the dark man struggled to keep the dirt out of his lungs. Her expression grew concerned then, prompting her closer toward Aeus' side. ”You alright?” She asked in a tone that suggested she knew he was fine, but wanted to check anyway. Rae felt bad for hurting him so, but at least there would be no lasting marks.

Soon he was on his feet, asking if she wanted to take it to the next level. Despite her successes, the grey and brown woman still showed her apprehension openly. It was another thing altogether to spar with a moving, biting target; she gave no credence to the idea that this would be easy in the slightest. Swiftly her tail dropped, confusion creeping into her face. Surely he was more skilled, and he was much stronger; the girl could see that. Still, the spirit of learning and her growing trust in the man not to hurt her began to win out. Raela met his mahogany eyes; a weak smirk forming on her lips. At least even if she wound up looking like a fool, he'd already been downed twice. It would even the field if anything.

With this in mind the challengers parted ways. All the possible attacks she could make fluttered about in her brain, causing her stomach to turn a little with anxiety. When they faced one another, she lowered herself for the charge yet again. He'd want her to attack first. Not wanting to stand still and make things more awkward for her nervous self, the girl made a split-second decision. She was going for his back leg again, but this time a little lower. After all, if she did the same thing again the man would surely be ready for it. Dust-grey paws kicked up a clod of grass as she lunged; rushing toward his bulky form. She felt chills beginning at the nape of her neck; she was running right at teeth that were well-prepared to grab her. As the girl closed in, she aimed for his hock, hoping to zip by him just out of reach and grab just above his ankle. If she could get up enough speed, maybe she could pull Aeus off his feet.

Astraeus Taranath

Aeus gave a wry smile and steadied himself, ready to do some actual sparring. Raela gave a set face as she tore across the field to his open arms. She turned around his lanky figure intending to reach his sensitive legs once more. But, he knew her tricks too well. Aeus waited until her front shoulders and torso were lowered about a foot an a half above the ground. She wanted a bite of his hock to set him down in the dirt- but Aeus knew a way out. He rounded on the gentle damsel and as she made contact with his leg, spinning her to the dirt... but, something went wrong. She was still on his hock as he wound her to the ground. Aeus rolled with her, closing his eyes defensively. The Taranath came out on top this time, opposed to the last time they were tumbling down a hill. He had her pinned against the soil and grass, and to be honest he was quite winded. Aeus finally opened his clamped eyes to see her face inches from his. He peered into her honeyed orbs, lost in their depth. His nose was practically touching hers. He could feel the heat boiling from inside his chest and rising to his cheeks, trying to keep it all down. She would shy away, this isn't supposed to happen this way. What will she think of me? He cringed and lifted his body off hers. Part of him felt horrible about it all.. but another felt alive. He couldn't deny that when he was with her, he could feel the energy pulsing through his veins- they were electric. He turned away from her embarrassed for letting it get to that point. "Ahem.. Uh. Lets take it from the top." He shook his tail releasing the dust into the air.

Her skin was prickling with anticipation as the girl rushed toward his legs; jaws parted. Rae was sure he'd sink his teeth into her scruff at any moment. Still she was allowed purchase on his leg, but her target moved suddenly; dragging the tawny girl off of her feet. She released his leg instinctively, but the dark man had already landed on her. In another tangle of legs and fur they toppled over, sending even more dirt and grass into the air.  She wasn't sure what was happening but at some point her shoulder got a little crushed between Aeus and the ground, forcing a strangled yip from her throat. Then the movement stopped, leaving her teacher victorious this time.

Blinking the dirt from her eyes and with a weak cough, Raela was oblivious to their proximity until she felt her companion's muscles go rigid. Her brilliantly yellow pools flashed, hoping to locate the source of his discomfort, but they didn't have to go far. He was staring at her, and he was very close. Too close. Fear crept up her neck, pulling the woman's ears down. She wanted him off. Her wish was swiftly granted however, and the towering male shifted himself up. She saw the pained way he carried himself from her, and immediately felt awful for being so frightened. Slowly she turned, rotating back onto her white belly while her eyes fixated on his retreating form.

Something moved in her stomach then; sapping her energy and leaving the girl with a sense of emptiness. She knew this to be loneliness, but it was mixed with too much confusion and regret. Before any of these things could clarify themselves, Astraeus spoke. Hesitating at first, the Downs wolf cleared her mind. Best to get back to the task at hand. She needed a new plan this go around; her attacks to his hind were exhausted. Raela rose, padding quickly to her side of the clearing with a subconsciously lowered head. That shoulder of hers still held a dull ache as she walked. Again her finely-tuned eyesight scanned over his body, probing for a weakness. The grey and brown woman's tail flickered out behind her as she fought to formulate a plan.

With a decisive nod, she met his gaze. Her back legs tensed, propelling the girl forward and accelerating her approach. This time she pinned her ears, both out of intense focus and the desire to be more streamlined. Raela didn't want to fail again. She moved swift and low, as if she were hunting. Rae wanted to dart by him, forcing the swarthy man to turn if he ever hoped to face the ruddy streak of speeding fur. A kick of her legs when she was too near his frame would launch her to safety at his rear. Either left or right, the man would have to turn, and she would be lunging for his neck when he did. Hopefully she could get a good grip on the side of it, just behind his head.

Lil' PP- yell at me if it needs to be changed! <3

Aeus swallowed his insecurities, casting his mahogany eyes to the ground. Fear creeping into his skull, penetrating his brain like a pair of needles laced in poison. It was honestly sickening. The feeling of wanting to regain touch but knowing its wrong. He hoped the lady would accept his silent apology. Out of his peripheral vision, he could see her barreling at him. To his surprise, she was lining up at his center- as if jumping into his open mouth. But no- she detoured. His jaws went to grab her as she flashed by his side- Aeus' teeth missing her by a half an inch. He turned with her, pivoting his body in a short circle to try and fend off her attack. Raela's speed outran his own, her body zipping behind him and over on his other side. Before Aeus could react, she was on his back and was gnawing at his scruff. He bucked his back legs and dragged himself backwards- trying to shake her off. He knew his little trick wasn't enough, he needed to physically pull her off. The man caught a glimpse of her ruddy tail dangling below his stomach and near his shoulder- close enough to grab. He reached below his girth and snapped around for her tail, his teeth brushing her fur. Alas, he found grip and began to tug- gently, but enough to spook her. He could feel her gradually slipping off his sleek fur, the lady's back legs now dangling from his stomach.

OOC: Last of her 6 posts! Feel free to wrap up the thread with them goofing around. :)

She felt his parted jaws rake through the hairs on her spine, casing the girl to tingle with adrenaline. He almost got her. Excited and invigorated by her brush with defeat, Raela's pounce burst with more force and energy than it would have otherwise. The woman landed squarely on her opponent's back, gaining full purchase on his neck, just where she'd intended. The success had her growling playfully as she tossed her head back and forth, tugging at his skin. Aeus became a bucking bronco beneath her lithe frame, and the slimmer wolf had no trouble remaining atop her target. As the man's thrashing ceased, she became suspicious. He'd figure out a way to get her off, she was sure of it. The girl collected her legs, strengthening her stance just as he took note of her treacherous tail.

A good amount of force jerked her backward, eliciting a quiet yelp and a few chuckles as her growling intensified. Still, she was slipping. Her back legs scrambled for traction on his side, but another good tug brought them free. Her weight settled on his nape now, held up only by the clump of fur in her teeth. Raela couldn't continue like this. Just as he was about to pull again, the girl let go, sliding to the ground and toward his front with a thump. She looked up over her white chest with a grin, catching her mentor's attention for the briefest of moments before kicking out her back legs right at his face. Quickly she staggered up, righting herself and throwing up dust in an attempt to flee if she'd succeeded in freeing her entrapped tassel, and trying mightily to do so if not.

Astraeus Taranath

Aeus could practically feel her slipping, she flailed around a bit before settling on his neck, but before he thought she was sound- she plopped down right in front of his face. Sort of surprised, he didn't do much to pursue the fighting. She gave a kind smile, provoking the thought of being safe and calm. He grinned back, his eyes dancing with charm. But, out of nowhere, she kicked up at his towering chin and scrambled to stand up. He was taken aback, but not so far to be off guard completely.  As she was turning to get up, he lurched forward to catch her with his paws. He stretched out with his front legs in order to wrap them around her waist. With a loud laugh, he leaned to the left taking himself and his damsel with him. They tumbled and then spread apart separately. Aeus was a little worried about them taking another tumble. He already felt bad about the recent occurrence- but to have it happen again would be enough to send him running to the hills. Setting aside his embarrassment for now, he gave her a sheepish smirk. He just kinda laid there for a few seconds, taking in the sapphire blue sky and all its magnificence. He really never felt so at peace with who he was with and where he was. It was such a change from his older pack, well, when they were alive. But, when they still lived, there was always something to be done- even when there wasn't. It was the first time that he had been somewhere without being expected to do something. For the first time, all was well.
