The Lyall Family - Angier - Mar 03, 2014
[dohtml]
The Lyall Family.
Up until the emergence of a lone exiled heir in November of 2011, Relic Lore had been home to the prominent Tainn family. Hailing from the east, from a place called Bertram Valley, Borden Lyall was the first of his family to set foot within the Wildwood and scale the Mountain of Dire. Within the ranks of the Midnight Plateau pack, he made his mark, recruiting members, and eventually falling in love with two individual females - Jaysyek Enap and Vlarindara Windrunner - he had met on his scouting missions. Amidst a pack meeting Borden announced his resignation, expressing his well wishes to Alexander Dieudonné and finding the gesture unreturned. With Jaysyek at his side, they joined up with Vlarindara and her brother Raigo, and together they forged a legacy that has left a lasting impression within the reaches of Relic Lore's Southern Eden territories.
The Lyall family has lived in Relic Lore since the spring of 2011 as the Grizzly Hollow pack; their members primarily consisting of Borden and Jaysyek's children. When the sudden and mysterious appearance of sickly, diseased animals prompted Borden to move his family away from Relic Lore, Grizzly Hollow was left behind to family friends Kade and Ava Attaya. With the help of Borden's brother Angier Lyall and Aniu (another trusted friend of the family), Borden, Jaysyek, and their remaining children successfully evaded the dangers descending from the heights of the Dire Mountain. Leaving Jaysyek and his nephews and nieces behind once they had settled, Angier Lyall embarked on his own venture to find a place for himself and keep the family name precedent within Relic Lore.
Today, the Lyall's still remain within Relic Lore; their family members have both settled and temporarily stayed with Relic Lore's leading packs: Willow Ridge, Cut Rock River, and Hollowheart Keep. Most, however, come and go as they like, venturing to and from Relic Lore as they please.
Notable Facts
- Lyalls are known for their vulnerability to wanderlust and pride, their stocky and barrel-like physique, spirit for adventure, and characteristically dark, mask-like facial markings.
- Their family motto is "Diligently and Honestly."
- Most family members are noted for their photographic memory, intense work ethic, or rebellious nature.
- The namesake of "Lyall" is from a Scottish surname which was derived from the Old Norse name "Liulfr" (which was derived in part from úlfr "wolf"). (source)
- Notable family traditions: Leadership responsibilities are inherited by the first-born son of each generation (unless a rank challenge proves or the parents decide otherwise), religious practices are passed from one generation to the next (see below), a cub's first solo hunt requires them to bring to the pack one rabbit to prove they are ready to join the adults in hunting activities.
- Most Lyalls are spiritual or religious: on Angier's side, there is a well-rooted belief in "Old Gods" (polytheistic); on Borden and Jaysyek's side, members often recite 'prayers' to "God" or "The Holy Spirit" (monotheistic, suggested Christian/Catholic roots courtesy of Kiche); and, on Nolan's side, pack members believe there are four wolf-like guardians who herald in the four seasons (animism).
- Most Lyalls are also superstitious, members on Borden and Nolan's sides - they, of all their siblings, remember the tales their grandmother used to tell - have heard of folklore related to: the Sand Wolf, the Wolves of Nikolaos, and a fearsome creature called "Aswang."

The First Generation of Lyalls
These members of the Lyall family hail from Bertram Valley; they are Merritt and Sorrel Silversage Lyall's first and only surviving litter, born on February 11th, 2007. They were raised with a strict and thorough understanding of moral codes and come from a background deep-rooted in a number family traditions. In addition to their parents, this generation was reared under the guidance of their uncle, Cutter Lyall, and their paternal grandparents, Faolann and Magique.
The First and Only Litter (2007)
Borden Lyall was the first of his family to set foot on Relic Lore soil. As the first-born son of his family, he was expected from birth to succeed and to take over his father's pack when he came of age. Things were set into motion as his yearling days saw him want for anything and everything in sight, including: the first bite of a meal, the chance to flaunt his dominance over his four younger brothers, the caches that had just been filled... even the scraps of rabbit between the paws of his father's newly promoted Second. Disobedience and selfishness eventually cost him his place as his father's heir; and, a few years after his own brothers had chased him from Bertram Valley, he found his way to the foot of the Mountain of Dire. Under the reign of Alexander Dieudonné, Borden refashioned himself into a man of patience and dignity. While recruiting for the Midnight Plateau pack, Borden met Jaysyek Enap, and with her at his side, the two of them started their own pack. He is the proud father of nine children, and is currently residing with his mate outside of Relic Lore. However, in the autumn of 2014, Borden returned after following his son Renier, curious about the whereabouts of his youngest cubs and the what had become of Grizzly Hollow in his absence.

Angier is Borden's younger brother and the second of his family to arrive to Relic Lore. A follower by nature, he left his family and pack with the desire to foil whatever plans his brother had made for himself. By luck alone (and perhaps some coincidence), he, too, found employment under Alexander Dieudonné; though his position as the pack Scout did not last long as the pack ultimately fell when Alexander sacrificed himself to save his children's life in the face of an angry cougar. For a short span of time, he entered in a secret romance with Vlarindara, hopping from pack to pack while he waited for her to shed her ties to Grizzly Hollow, Jaysyek, and his brother. His involvement with her, and in time Elettra Archer, caused him to compromise his place within the Swift River pack, and he was forced to travel and join Grizzly Hollow as a means to survive the winter. When Borden and Jaysyek moved their family outside of Relic Lore the following spring, Angier aided them in bringing over their two sons while Jaysyek traveled with her daughters and Borden searched for Taima, the daughter he had misplaced. When he returned to Relic Lore, he finally joined Willow Ridge and worked his way up in rank only to be bested (but also proven worthy of Elettra's companionship) by Guiness Thorben. With Guiness' permission and Elettra's grace, he was granted permission to step up in rank. He is the current leader and patriarch of the wolves of Willow Ridge.
Tesla Lyall is the third-born son of Merritt and Sorrel. With Borden and Angier as his role models, he was quick to learn from them - everything from what to do and not do as well as how to manage his place within the pack hierarchy. When both Borden and Angier left, the responsibilities of being the next pack leader fell upon his shoulders. Everything had gone according to plan but an unexpected bout with younger brother Nolan turned the tables out of his favor. As Nolan became Leader of the Bertram Valley pack, he earned his place as his brother's Second. Now considered as apart of his brother's council, Tesla found himself bored with his position. Over the summer, he has started to find himself wondering what had become of his older brothers... and if life had served them as well as he had thought. Comfort and status are very important to Tesla, and he wondered if perhaps he might be missing out on getting a slice of his brothers' influence and power. Unfortunately, he quickly discovered he was no longer as young as he used to be and that the trip from Bertram Valley to Relic Lore took more tolls on him than he had originally thought. In the end, he realized he didn't have the courage to show his face to his only remaining brother in Relic Lore --too much water under the bridge-- and decided he would be better served by returning to Bertram Valley.
Nolan Lyall
Nolan is the youngest boy of his litter and the only Lyall in his generation to sport a pitch black coat (which was solely inherited from his paternal grandfather). Of his four siblings, he is closest to his sister, Dove; and, was commonly seen trailing behind Borden in hopes of keeping himself on his brother's good side. At a very young age, he had the makings of a skilled Hunter and Fisher and was even said to simply fulfill a lowly subordinate rank (to help maintain the pack's numbers), but proved everyone wrong when he eventually challenged his way up the pack hierarchy when his elder brothers, Borden and Angier parted ways with the family. In a judged spar against Tesla, he won and was granted the coveted spot as his father's Second. When he turned five years old, he finally rose as Bertram Valley's Leader when he challenged his father and became the victor. He has since shifted the pack hierarchy until the pack functioned as he saw fit.

Dove Lyall
Dove is the youngest of her litter and the only female in her family apart from her mother. Growing up among four brothers allowed her to toughen up and to set high standards for herself. While her parents often focused her oldest brother, Borden, Dove was often set aside, much to her Uncle’s dismay. In time, however, Cutter appointed her an important position – the role of a Scout, at first, then the role of a pack Vigilante – to help keep things in order. Of her four brothers, she had always favored Nolan and now proudly serves as his Advisor within Bertram Valley. It was rumored that she had made an appearance within Relic Lore, but no one knows for sure if this "Dove" was actually her...

Relatives by Mateship
Brought into the family through matrimony, Jaysyek Enap is a reigning matriarch of the Lyall family. Born to Tarak Lakshmi and Fraust Enap of Enap Hollow, she is the second daughter and last-born of her litter. She met Borden Lyall on January 23rd, 2011 and was recruited into the Midnight Plateau pack, where he was serving as the pack Second. She later helped establish Grizzly Hollow in the heart of Cedarwood Forest alongside her mate, and the two ragtag "siblings" he had recruited. Despite the trials and hardship wrought on after the arrival of her first litter, Jaysyek has prevailed, bearing and raising a total of nine children with the help of her pack. She now resides with Borden, Trisden, and other former Grizzly Hollow members outside of Relic Lore. |
Elettra Archer is the mate of Angier Lyall and the mother of six cubs (three of which bear the Lyall namesake). She hails from the distant land of Torbine, a royal by name and blood. When she first came to Relic Lore, she was recruited into Grizzly Hollow by Vlarindara and soon initiated into the pack by Jaysyek as a Medic. She eventually came to like Borden after spending time with him collecting shells to build up supplies for her Infirmary, but the partiality towards him was short-lived when Borden set off in search of his son Prosper. Elettra, in the light of his absence, became a prominent member of Grizzly Hollow, caring for Jaysyek's first litter beside Vlarindara, Kiche, and Raigo. The pack was on the brink of disbanding when Borden returned and a few attempts at recruiting allowed the family to thrive again with the aid of Kade Attaya. For a while, Elettra was able to keep Borden in his place as the pack's lowest-ranking member, but as soon as he began to move his way up in rank, she began to despise the way Jaysyek and Kade were handling the pack. As Borden reclaimed his rank as Leader, Elettra announced her leave and she became the sole founder of Willow Ridge. Misfortune and poor timing saw her struggle to obtain and maintain a suitable mate, and it was within Kiche (who had crawled away from the crumbling empire of Grizzly Hollow) who helped her secure her bloodline, producing three cubs - Asriel, Skoll, and Morganna. In the Spring of 2013, Angier, after promising her on several occasions that he would "come back to her" and "return to serve as a part of her pack," came to Willow Ridge and, by mid-September 2013, became her mate and consort. |

The Second Generation of Lyalls (Borden & Jaysyek's Litters)
These members of the Lyall family are from Borden Lyall and Jaysyek Enap Lyall's bloodline. Their first, adopted, and second litters were all raised within Cedarwood Forest as apart of the Grizzly Hollow pack. Their ward, Aiyana, and their third - and final - litter was born and raised outside of Relic Lore as apart of the Renegades Reach pack.
The First Litter (2011)
Prosper Lyall was the first-born son of Borden and Jaysyek Lyall. Like his father and uncles, he dons many of the family's trademarks, primarily the mask-like marking and a penchant for adventuring and exploring. During the Summer of 2011 Prosper mysteriously disappeared after venturing onto Swift River territory twice before. It is unknown what had happened to him, but it prompted Borden to leave Grizzly Hollow in order to search for him. At five months old, weeks after he had been deemed missing, his body was discovered among the dying autumn leaves within the ruins of the Wildwood, and he was respectfully returned home by the Swift River wolves. He was laid to rest near Jasper Rocks on the eastern side of Grizzly Hollow territory.
Hocus is Borden and Jayse's second-born son and middle-born of his litter. Like his mother, he boasts a pristine white coat which hints at his mother's arctic roots. Of all his siblings, he was closest to his age mate Trisden; since the disappearance of their brother Prosper, they often stole away into the night on adventures unknown, leaving their mother stricken with worry while Borden had left in order to search for his missing son. While Hocus and Trisden were growing up, he was often gullible to and reliant on his sister's views and schemes. As a yearling he was easily reeled into the beliefs of a singular deity (a higher being, a God) by the pack's pious subordinate, Kiche. By the time Borden had returned, Hocus had become distant and more reserved, prone to believing that it was much too late for his father to redeem himself for the sins he had committed against his family. The distrust was too much for him to handle and when Trisden had finally come up with a means to leave Grizzly Hollow behind, he followed without word... When Trisden had returned to Relic Lore, Hocus had chosen to stay behind. After some years of wandering, finding a lifestyle then becoming excluded from it, he came to find a life of his own, later establishing his own family within a part of Sanctuary, Canada called Minister's Meadow. He is the father of six cubs - Piety being his only Relic Lore-bound dauther. |
Trisden is Borden and Jaysyek's first-born daughter and the only cub of her litter currently living with the family. She has her father's spirit and cunning, and is considered to be a "careless man’s careful daughter" despite her rebellious nature. As a youngster, she was brought up to believe in God and to constantly repent for her sins. She had been with her adopted brother Theo when he was bitten by a snake, and since his death, has believed it all to be her fault. She left with her brother Hocus only to eventually return home to Grizzly Hollow when they had become separated. Her timing couldn't have been more perfect as she helped raise her younger siblings from her parents' second and third litters. It is also noted that she was the first to leave Grizzly Hollow, securing for the family a temporary safe haven and meeting spot while her parents organized their plans for leaving Relic Lore. As the eldest of her generation, who has also kept in close contact with her parents and family, she is the first female in line to inherit Renegades Reach. |
The Adopted Litter (2011)
Theodore "Theo" Alexandre Devaux-Dieudonné Lyall (deceased)
"Theo" Lyall is the first-born and only son of Alexander Dieudonné and Amélie Devaux-Dieudonné. On the day of his birth, when his mother suddenly disappeared and didn't come back, Alexander came back to discover that the pack den was moments away from being raided by a territorial cougar. As Alexander faced the cougar alone, Angier Lyall and Vlarindara heeded his orders and brought the children to Grizzly Hollow where Vlarindara was certain they would be well taken care off. As apart of the Lyall clan, Theo thrived, if only for a short while. He was 6 months old when he and his (adopted) sister, Trisden were exploring and the unexpected happened... As the victim of a rattlesnake bite, there was little anyone could do to help Theo once the venom had begun coursing through his veins. He has been laid to rest with his brother, Prosper, along the pebbled shores of Jasper Rocks.
Arlette is the second-born of her litter and the one and only daughter of Alexander Dieudonné and Amélie Devaux-Dieudonné. She is the sole survivor of her biological family. Like both her biological and adoptive mothers, she is gentle-hearted and kind; at times, quiet and thoughtful. When she was old enough, a few weeks away from becoming a yearling, Borden granted her the truth about her family and how she and her biological brother, Theo, had come to live with him and Jaysyek in Grizzly Hollow. Armed with the actuality of her parentage, Arlette found the means to strike out on her own and escaped Relic Lore for a time. She came upon the White Cove pack, where she was reunited with Kiche, a former member of Grizzly Hollow. Once settled, she was bound to become a mate to the pack's successor, Merlin, but fled. In escaping her suitor, she was soon reunited with a childhood friend - Fenru Donata of Oak Tree Bend, the pack formerly known as Swift River - and, together, after Fenru's mother's death, escaped from the Lore to begin their lives anew... away from the loss, abandonment, and overwhelming grief that had plagued their nearly similar pasts. By the end of Spring in 2014, they claimed a vast expanse of a forest-lined prairie for their own and welcomed the first members of their now growing family.
The Second Litter (2012)
Renier is the third-born son of Borden and Jaysyek and is the eldest of his age mates. Of his siblings, he is currently the bulkiest at 115 lbs. (52 kg.). He is also considered the most dominant, and is the first of his family to possess second/middle name (which comes from his Uncle Dyami on his mother's side). He and his siblings were born and raised within Grizzly Hollow, but they were soon uprooted when their father suggested that they move away from Relic Lore. Renier was set to become a potential Leader of his father and mother's newly established pack - Renegades Reach - until he struck out on his own. In time, he returned to Relic Lore in hopes of finding his wayward sister, Taima, but has, for the time being, become apart of the Cut Rock River pack, waiting for a time when Grizzly Hollow can be restored to its former glory. |
Taking after his older brother Hocus in demeanor and pelt color, Ryvet Borden Lyall is Jaysyek's son through and through. Not only are his eyes also mismatched - one green iris, the other blue - but his approach to life is also similar to that of his mother's. He is a reserved and quiet thinker and a follower, often prone to tagging along with his brother and age mate Renier. In contrast to the rest of his siblings, he is careful and observant; and, when his mother and father announced that they would be moving outside of Relic Lore, he did nothing to protest against it. In the Spring of 2013, he traveled with Renier and their uncle Angier to a stretch of pine forest woodlands and became an original founder of his parents' new pack: Renegades Reach. When his father returned without his sister Taima, who had gone missing right before the family relocated, Ryvet also set off on his own just days after Renier had left to search for their missing sibling. On a couple occasions, Ryvet has returned to Relic Lore, but it is currently uncertain where this Lyall has wound up. It was later determined that he had met up with an old family friend, Valiant, and after sometime, when Ryvet made his way back to the Lore, he met up with his younger brother Rook to help re-establish Grizzly Hollow. |
Taima Lyall is the second-born daughter of Borden and Jaysyek Lyall and the fifth-born in her family. As tradition and genetics allow, Taima has always harbored a penchant for adventure and the desire to constantly prove herself as an independent individual. Her attitude, over-confidence, and insolence cost her both her pack and her family when she was swept away by a mysterious individual - named Ripplefang - after being promised that she would be made an upcoming Leader of her pack. The treacherous journey across the terrain of Relic Lore brought Taima and her captor to the other side of the Mountain of Dire where she would reunite with an acquaintance she once knew from an encounter with a disgruntled skunk. With Datura at her side, she and the "crown prince" of Nomads Pass ventured to the south before being rescued and brought back to the Pass by Naira's Advisor at the time, Mapplethorpe. There, she spent her days being groomed as a sort of "princess bride," but when Datura suddenly disappeared, she began to make her own plans. For months, Taima's whereabouts was unknown, until the day she resurfaced, briefly becoming apart of Cut Rock River before being reunited with her uncle, Angier. |
Calla Lyall was born the runt of her litter. She has proven time and time again, however, that her size means nothing in comparison to the gumption and spunk she cultivated by watching and imitating her older sisters. She has often been described as a "sprite" and a "spirit," often romping at the heels of her siblings in hopes of being allowed to come along for an adventure. Her time at both Grizzly Hollow and Renegades Reach saw her blossom into a vivacious, sprightly, and intelligent young lady. When she wandered off after her brothers when they returned to Relic Lore, she was able to navigate her way towards the Cedarwood Forest and, in due time, find herself back into the company of someone familiar - her uncle Angier, who had become the Leader of the neighboring pack, Willow Ridge. Rather than stay with him and his pack, her determination won her over and her search for Taima on the eastern parts of Relic Lore continued. No one, not even Angier or Elettra, has seen her since... |
The Ward (2013)
Aiyana was initially born to Indru Tainn and Corinna Donata as apart of their second and last litter together. She is the first-born of her agemate siblings, just minutes older than her brother Torrel (who had been taken away by the family) and her sister Rissa (who had been murdered by the Aniwaya pack). When Borden traveled to the eastern ends of Relic Lore, Aiyana met him at the foot of Bramble Falls while he was searching for his misplaced daughter, Taima. At the time, Aiyana was still grieving over the death of her sister and, in seeing the depth of her desolation and bereavement, Borden offered her a chance to get away from Relic Lore... to find peace and, in time, happiness as apart of his pack. She agreed, and after a brief meeting with Corinna, Aiyana was allowed to leave Swift River and her pack. She now resides with Borden and Jaysyek as an adopted member of the family within the Greying Glades outside of Relic Lore. |
The Third and Final Litter (2013)
Bishop appears a Lyall through and through, from her stout body to her coloring. Her nurturing personality, however, was taken from her mother Jaysyek and spun with a twist. She idolizes her mother and feels drawn to emulate Jaysyek as a source of strength and wisdom in her family even at a young age by hovering over her younger brother and trying to help him in every endeavor welcomed or not. Generally speaking, she has a great capacity for love and pain, and more than anything wants to be involved in something bigger and greater than herself. |
The youngest of Borden and Jaysyek's brood is nothing short of a typical Lyall. His genetics have given him traits from both his mother and father, bearing the agouti-patterned Lyall coat and stocky build, as well as Jaysyek's characteristic mismatched eyes. Rook is 28 minutes younger than his twin sister, Bishop, and is loath to be without her despite his independent spirit and sometimes clashing opinions. He is also a borderline cynic and, though he often bases his outlook on logic and calculations, is occasionally subject to believe Bishop's deep-rooted notions in faith.

Datura Aquila was born to Rhysis Aquila and Naira Tainn as apart of the Poison Path pack. On a spontaneous trip to the west, he stumbled into Taima Lyall, who had been unfortunately sprayed by a skunk. In an act of valor he claimed to have saved her from her attacker and he helped her break the ice on the frozen lagoon to wash the stench from her fur. Datura met Taima again after they were both taken away by two different wolves of the imposing Aniwaya pack from the eastern end of Relic Lore. Together they explored uncharted territory - Umbra Copse and Heiress Loch and Dragonfly Fen - before they were both brought back to Nomads Pass, by the Advisor Mapplethorpe, where Naira had been expecting her son's return. In the autumn of 2013, he went away from Relic Lore; and, when he returned to find his family gone from the Pass, he went back towards the Cedarwood Forest in search of Taima. Luckily, he was able to catch up to her, continuing their string of rather well-timed encounters. He had resided with the wolves of Cut Rock River for a time, after Taima separated herself from him to join her family, taking their son Octavius with her. After some time, he abandoned them altogether...

A little devil, feeding off of the submission of others and walking on air of unshaken confidence. She has a desire to get what she wants, when she wants it and is not above using manipulation in order to gain these desires. Protected under her large brothers' watchful eyes, the world cannot touch her. She reasons with law, though when it crosses her, may find ways to bend the rules in her favor.

The Second Generation of Lyalls (Angier & Elettra's Litters)
These members of the Lyall family are descended from Angier Lyall and Elettra Archer's bloodline. Their first and second litters were born and raised within the Drooping Willows as apart of the Willow Ridge pack.
The First Litter (2014)
Deacon Archer Lyall is named after Elettra's favored brother who also sports a black coat with a white patch on his chest and highlights of both silver and gold flecks; it would seem that even the color of his eyes, an orange-amber hue, was passed down. Angier and Elettra's first-born son is, no doubt, a noble and knightly breed - protective, compassionate and chivalrous in behavior. He is a true-born Lyall (and Archer), being that his dominant and his level-headed nature makes his leadership skills quite easy to follow be persuaded by. Though he does not particularly wish to be looked up to, Deacon often knows what is best and does what is willed and asked of him. He will grow to have a bit of a wanderer's heart and wish to see the whole of Relic Lore and, perhaps, the world beyond it.
With no doubt, Castiel is the largest of the group and yet, the most meek, giving meaning to the term 'Gentle Giant.' Though he does not exactly look like his father, being much darker, Castiel is the only of his siblings to inherit the trademark Lyall timber/agouti markings, complete with the traditional washed-out mask. He does, however, have the same pale gold eyes of his father, Angier. He is happy, friendly, and readily takes to the role of making the rest of his siblings at ease. He enjoys having a job or task to fulfill, and readily upholds commands; though, he is by far a push-over and, with his size, little dare to test him and his ways. He is especially close to Deacon and trusts his judgement, even when Castiel, himself, lacks his abilities in making sound decisions. Castiel, in time, will grow to become quite protective of his older half-sister, Morganna.
Greer, whose name means "the watcher," holds himself on extremely tall proportions and possesses a thin, stream-line figure which mimics his older half-brother Skoll's physique. His speed and reflexes are something to behold and is quite light on his feet once he masters his motor skills. Everything about him as an adult is dark and intense, which emphasizes his pale gray eyes and deep, solid black coat. He is a shadow. He is the darkness... Quiet, cunning and observant, Greer will grow up to be a swift Scout or, perhaps, should his mother and father require one, a deadly assassin. He craves respect yet lacks the drive for leadership. Leadership, in his eyes, holds the spotlight and this particular male is far more interested in being in the shadows and being free. He is likely to have more in common with his older half-siblings Skoll and Morganna.
The Second Litter (2015)
Niles is Angier and Elettra's fourth-born boy and the eldest of his litter. In time he will be a good listener and a loyal follower due to his sensitive, quiet nature and growing reputation for being reliable. He loves his sisters; any place they are, he is typically not too far behind, and when left back at the den he patiently waits for them to return before trying to find them on his own accord. As an adult, he will physically take after his father, burly and tall; he will also acquire his mother's integrity and resilience, striving to continually uphold the structure and ethics of Willow Ridge in any way he can.
Ravenna, even with her startling white fur, should come as no surprise to any wolf who is well-acquainted with the Archers or Lyalls - as she inherits her thick and curvy build, pelt color and "scruffy" fur texture from Elettra's father and grandfather, Roman and Romanov, and Angier's only sister, Dove. She is, without a doubt, her mother's daughter in looks and in interests with an affinity for rough-housing and exploring, as well as a gift in the art of herbalism. She is also a tomboy in the sense that she plays dirty with her age-mate brother and is considered as "one of the boys." Despite this, though, she coddles and protects her sister Isolde.
Isolde is now Angier and Elettra's last-born cub, the youngest in her litter and the youngest girl in her family and pack. Her pelt coloration takes cues from her father's side, boasting an array of earth-toned hues with traditional white markings found on a typical Great Plains Wolf. She has a more poised and delicate build than her older sisters, being slender and subtly curved all around with long legs and soft tufts of fur that characteristically shape her head and neck. When she speaks her voice is light-hearted and airy, making it soft and sweet on the ears. She is said to share similar mannerisms and a reserved demeanor with her older brother Castiel. She is eager to please and will do whatever she can to make her family proud of her. Though, due to being the new "baby in the family," she is more than often looked after by all of her older siblings, prone to becoming over-protected, sheltered, and perhaps a bit too confident when kept within Willow Ridge and insecure when outside the territory.

The Third Generation of Lyalls
These members of the Lyall family have been born within and outside of Relic Lore, descending from Borden and Jaysyek's children.
The Saint (2013; Hocus)
Piety was the third-born cub in her litter, alongside one other sister and two brothers who are also just as pale and white as both of their parents - a misplaced heiress and a wandering hermit of a rogue, Hocus. Born and raised within a safe haven commonly known to all local wolves as Sanctuary, Minister's Meadow was eventually established by her mother and father; and, it was here that Piety and her siblings came to understand the importance of hope, ambition, expectation, and discipline. Raised to become a sort of Seer, Piety has been said to have a gift in being able to remember her thought-provoking dreams and nightmares; she also believes that her dreams are visions of the impending future and memories of her life in the past. As she came of age, her yearling days saw her request fulfilled when she asked to go on a sabbatical and challenge herself physically, mentally, and spiritually. No matter how much her mother might have worried and cried, her father allowed her to leave, imparting upon her a few words of wisdom and that she would be just fine, regardless of whether or not she might return to Sanctuary. After all, he, himself, had lived quite an eventful life before settling down. It would seem that Piety's destiny had come calling to her upon distant winds, whispering to her the promises of newfound discoveries, friends, enemies, and maybe even a lover or a heartbreak or two... Little did her family know, however, that her calling would lure her into the depths of the lands that laid to the east: Relic Lore.

The Scion (2014; Taima & Datura)
Octavius Percival Lyall Aquila, also known as Gus, is Taima Lyall and Datura Aquila's first-born son and the proclaimed heir of the Grizzly Hollow pack (which his mother attempted to revive). He was supposed to be the older sibling of a younger brother - Borden Prosper - but the cub did not survive, leaving him as an only child. In tradition with family trademarks, Gus boasts a mask-like marking similar to that of his paternal grandfather and mother and has inherited his father's and maternal grandmothers' golden eyes. Initially born without any siblings or age mates to play with, Gus is the type of personality that is shy (but not weak or reserved) and forward-thinking (but not brash or impudent). In fact, he takes after his grand-uncle Angier in the terms of being a follower first before adopting a sense of leadership. He is close to his mother, looks up to both his parents, and seems to be an independent sort of lad, but to any outsider, it is very easy to identify that he is a "Momma's boy" with his sometimes awkward enthusiasm and rather off-hand remarks about reciting what his mother tells him to do and not to do, and what is expected of him ("Well, my mom said..."). When his mother had finally hatched a plan to leave Willow Ridge in search of Datura, she left Gus with her uncle Angier for several months, leaving the boy feeling unloved and abandoned. She returned when he was roughly 8 months old, however, and silently swept him away from the reaches of Relic Lore. Where he and Taima now reside is unknown...

The Lord of Grizzly Hollow (2015; Rook & Quil)
Starting as a roly-poly sort of cub, Tomen Attaya Lyall is the epitome of hope, optimism, and love. He hails from a long line of intellectuals - those who were gifted in botany, scavenging, sparring tactics, reasoning, and leadership - and with the right teachings and lessons can grow into a promising member of his pack. While it is apparent that his looks are purely inherited from his mother's side of his family (and his grand-uncle Nolan on his father's side), his build and musculature is likened to that of the Lyall family's males (his father, grandfather, and uncles) in being barrel-chested and thick-limbed with a box-like muzzle. His eyes take on the gold and amber of the Attaya's; and, his face with all of his adult coloration is adorned with a hint of a mask, much like his Uncle Rowan's. As the third-born of his generation (cousins Piety and Octavius came first), but the only "heir" on Borden and Jaysyek's side of the family currently residing within Relic Lore, it goes without question that Tomen has everything he could possibly ask for and dream of...

The Fourth Generation of Lyalls
These members of the Lyall family have been born within Relic Lore, descending from Borden and Jaysyek's grandchildren.
The Prince (2015; Piety & Sköll)
Sven Archer - formerly named Sven Santoro Archer - is the pride and joy of Skoll Archer and Piety Santoro. An only child, born within Willow Ridge, he has wanted for nothing. His name stems from the idea that he is the seventh-born to the pack's legacy - after Asriel, Skoll, Morganna, Deacon, Castiel, and Greer - to inherit Willow Ridge (his paternal grandmother's pack). Like his great-great-grandfather and his great-grandfather, rulers of Torbine, he sports a snow white coat - the (ancient) telltale sign of a "fair" heir, prince, and promising Leader. As his heritage dictates, he is burdened with the need to prove who he is and will become - to his parents, to his family...and to the world...
