Hollowheart Keep
In the winter of 2013, the wolves of Nomads Pass reforged themselves anew as the Hollowheart Keep pack in the middle of winter. Forced from the mountainside after being threatened by being frozen alive between the crags, Naira and Mapplethorpe evacuated the pack and found refuge within the Ghastly Woods. The move had been beneficial, despite realizing how vulnerable most of the pack felt between the trees without a vantage point to resort to. Their new home was an ideal ground for migrating herds and a perfect death trap for young, inexperienced creatures facing the harshest winter Relic Lore has ever seen. What the pack had not expected, however, was the competition. When the mountain range had been secluded and isolating, being forest-bound invited feuds to take root and it wasn't long until the wolves of Cut Rock River found them out.
With so many yearlings to keep track of - Aponi, Nova, Taima, Karpos, and Mercy - Naira and Mapplethorpe soon discovered that, one by one, the youths of the pack were leaving or being prone to getting lost between the trees. Aponi and Mercy were the first to be separated from the pack in the middle of a sudden blizzard; Taima quietly slipped away in the middle of the night. Then, soon after Aponi and her 'escort' were recovered, Karpos, after behaving out of line and sending Aponi (and Mercy along with her) away, denounced his declaration as an upcoming Guardian and was ousted from the pack. Nova, alone, as Naira's remaining daughter, was the only one to welcome her new half-siblings, Naira and Mapplethorpe's cubs: Asphodel and Hemlock. With help from the Guardian Chulyin and the Scout Sagacity, things in the pack eventually quieted as both Leaders began to keep exclusively to themselves, often keeping each other company for hours at a time, and with the arrival of new members - Couth the Medic, Myrrhis, and the return of Quicksilver - the pack endures in hopes of enjoying another successful year.
