Whisper Caverns

During the fall, Whisper Caverns pack was doing well living harmoniously together with few if any scuffles for dominance. Sloane and Narime continue to lead the growing pack and teach their three pups Titan, Yuka, and Malia Thorben about the world. Caches are filled and the pack grows larger readying themselves for the coming cold season.

Positive that the pack was in good paws with Sloane and Minka, Narime decides to go over the mountains for what was supposed to be a short two week mission to meet with Shade herself to try and gain another ally for the pack.

The winter of 2014 was Whisper Cavern pack's first real challenge. With severe snow storms and a worse than normal winter famine the wolves of the caverns struggled through till spring. Numerous wolves from the pack went missing on scouting missions looking for food, and many who did not come back are presumed dead. Narime herself became lost as vicous storms slowed her on her journey. With her absence being longer than anticipated Minka Leigh steps up to take over as lead female of Whisper Caverns. Upon realizing that Sloane Thorben was also missing, Minka looks for a suitable wolf to take over as alpha male. She gets her wish when Ash and Namara Hervok, previously of Poison Path pack, join Whisper Caverns. Ash is accepted by the rest of the pack as lead male.

Narime did not return until Winter had fully gripped the Lore, and had only barely made it over the mountain pass just a few days before it became impassable. The rest of the pack who had gone missing during the winter include three of the founding members of the pack, Sloane Thorben, Kieth Tatum, and Simaea Nite, as well as Anglo Quinsarc, Namara Hervok, and Titan Thorben. However Titan was found by Minka Leigh living amongst the Cut Rock River wolves who had first found the young Thorben. He is brought back to the pack safely.

Narime begrudgingly accepts Ash as alpha male in Sloane's place, and accepts her role as second while Minka continues to lead the pack into early spring. Prepping for the warm season ahead, Minka accepts Tokino Lagina as her mate and takes his name. The pair make arrangements to leave and start a new pack once spring was in full force. Narime does not trust Ash enough, and feels too much loyalty still for her missing mate Sloane Thorben, so she decides not to breed this warm season. However one last snow storm grips the land and covers the thinning ice over Lore's water sources. Just when the pack thought they had made it through the worst winter seen in years, young Malia Thorben falls through a thin patch of ice and drowns. The only witness to her death being Asriel Archer of Willow Ridge pack, who in shock keeps the guilt and her last moments as a secret; Malia Thorben's demise is not found out by Whisper Caverns until the deep snows fully clear from the landscape and her body is freed from the ice.

Ash finds Athena Moon-Thanne and her new mate Dziban Thanne. He works out the misunderstanding with Athena that had practically torn a part Poison Paths few remaining loyal members. After all is said and done Ash offers a home to his old flame Athena and her new mate within Whisper Caverns. The pair are accepted though choose to make a birthing den in the middle of the territory instead of within the main den.

Tensions within the pack mount between Minka, Tokino, Ash, and Narime after a meeting is called in February where the pack learns of Minka and Tokino's plans for their future. They invite other members of the pack to leave with them to form a new pack. Despite her situation Narime steps forward to challenge Minka's plans. Both she and Ash tell the pack that anyone who leaves with Minka and Tokino would be labeled a traitor.

Internal strife within Whisper Caverns continued until a major altercation took place. Tokino and Narime start a fight which winds up ending in a draw when Ash and Minka intervene. Ash sends Minka and Tokino packing while Narime nurses her injuries.

Minka, Tokino, and Inali wind up forming Black Thorn Downs pack in Blackberry fields.

As the landscape warms up and food begins to appear once more, the pack is able to once more let new wolves join them. Titan and Yuka Thorben turn a year old and graduate to the adult ranks of the pack along with four newly accepted recruits Kassander Xanilov, Adair Asherdu, Danica Reinier formerly of Secret Woodlands, and Klio Zariadus. Athena also brings her child Aurora Thanne into the world. Aurora AKA Rory, is the only pup within Whisper Caverns pack.

After all of the drama of winter and spring Whisper Caverns is left with Ash Hervok and Narime Lagina leading the pack; as well as Athena Moon-Thanne and Dziban Thanne supervising in both second positions. Whisper Caverns had come close to being disbanded, however through the fierce bonds of loyalty of a few members it was able to endure and survive for another year.
