Within the past year the pack has settled into their red cedar home, but life has been far from easy or uneventful for them. The treacherous landscape and isolation of their home has lead to several significant losses.

Long-time friend and recently-made enemy Narime Lagina arrived with her son Yuka, claiming to have been betrayed by Nina Hervok. The mother and son team asked for asylum within the Pines ranks and Iopah uneasily agreed. Shortly after their acceptance Narime vanished, leaving Yuka behind.

But disappearances don't stop there as Koda decided to embark on a journey in search of allies during the heart of winter only to fail in returning after his promised amount of time away forcing a distraught Iopah to ask second in command Eirian to step up as co-lead in the absence of the former lead. The Reinier family did their part in searching for the missing father and husband only to have more tragedy strike in the form of their daughters disappearing. Only Ember had managed to find her way back.

Time ticked on and things still weren't looking up for the Pines wolves, the loss of founding member Zia after an icy slip and the eventual departure of Nova at the beginning of summer left their numbers smaller than ever.

Finally some light began to shine on them in their darkest hour with the addition of a rag team wolves who were the remnants of a fallen pack that lived on the mountain, a woman named Eek and the return of Koda.

Things were finally starting to look up when tragedy struck again with the passing of Erebos after the consumption of a poisoned rabbit thought to be nothing more than a common bug did him in.
