It should have been expected that a pack with such a turbulent start would keep it that way. Whitestone Monadnock seemed to leave a wake wherever the wolves of it stepped.
Members commonly found themselves stepping on the toes of other packs. Craw and Wraith seemed to find themselves mingling with White Fir Notch in a rather unfriendly manner. A not-so-silent feud started between Lorcan and Askan which seemed to morph into rocky relations between the Fields and Monadnock. Despite this, the new wolves of the tundra carry on with life. Morganna wished to head home so that her family could meet the children, Odin and Kara. The job fell upon Celandine and Greer to inform Willow Ridge of the trip. When Morganna finally arrives she was greeted by Sven and Elettra where it comes to light that Angier is absent. Information is exchanged between the two female Archers about Whitestone Monadnock's location. While in travels Morganna and Renier run into each other, managing to clear the air about some family drama despite a few rough patches. Meanwhile, another Archer of the Monadnock- Greer- seemed to be enjoying the company of a visiting Kyna.
Things look good for Whitestone Monadnock as Odin finds a muskox trapped in the snow. The rest of the pack shows up to help finish it off for a hearty meal. Nature keeps smiling upon them as an early aurora borealis shows up. It provides a great bonding and learning moment for the pack. Perhaps this a sign that things are looking up for the rugged wolves of the north.
Although it seems ghosts of the past bother Wraith and prompt him to ask Craw for permission to leave. The male alpha agreed but asked for his second to take care of his own unfinished business, figuring out if the scarred man's father still lives and connecting with old comrades. While Wraith is out traveling Craw takes a trip to Hearthwood River to meet Lachesis but is greeted by Inna. The two chatter before the pale River leader shows up. This might be one of Whitestone Monadnock's more civilized meetings with their neighbors. Of course, tensions in the north only build. Craw intentions of teaching his children the rougher ways of life and attack Adelayde; a wolf who they didn't realize is of Wilde Rye Fields.
Perhaps a bit of rough hospitality is shown as Drestig and Jessie of Wild Rye Fields talk to Morganna and Craw. The encounter is rather rocky but the two leading pairs do their best to set hostilities aside and settle on a neutral term. Another pack encounter ensures as Craw goes down to visit White Fir Notch. The two packs seem to settle on good terms. A pack meeting is held after a hunt to discuss that the Whitestone wolves should be on their best behavior around their southern neighbors.
The pack's numbers swell with the addition of Spieden, Mako, and Marina who fled from Oak Tree Bend. With Wraith's return brought another wolf. Mittani Morelli, a bad omen of sorts. He was a ghost right out of Craw's past and perhaps a warning sign of what was to come.
Wraith's return heralded much news from Craw's homelands. Not only was Craw's father dead, but his daughter very much alive and a number of other wolves who had remained loyal to the spider were as well. Mittani was meant to be an envoy to verify all that Wraith told the group was true; that Craw was alive and leader of a new pack. The others, led by Roosemooth, Craw's old advisor, waited for Mittani's return before they came to the Lore.
When the wolves of Craw's old pack arrived, the male's attention was heavily diverted. No longer was he able to provide the attention needed to his current pack, placing excessive strain on Morganna throughout her heat season. While she amused herself with teasing Wraith and encouraging him to alleviate Piety's heat, she inevitably sought comfort elsewhere. Unbeknownst to her packmates, said comfort lay with Renier, a member of the founding wolves' previous pack, Willow Ridge.
Craw's continued lack of presence as leader left not only his mate furious, but his Second as well. Wraith, tired of leading the pack alongside Morganna in all but name, claimed leadership for himself. Despite the help of a strong leader at her side, Morganna remained overwhelmed and furious with her mate's lack of interest. With her pups, Odin and Kara, and Renier, she set out to travel for old family ties, leaving Whitestone Monadnock behind. Craw, having discovered this later, followed along.
With Whitestone's ranks in chaotic disarray, a pregnant Piety rose into the position of Leader alongside her mate. With their ascension brought more chaos. Lorcan, the pack's steadfast healer, decided to leave Whitestone as well, opting instead to join ranks with the nearby Hearthwood River wolves to follow his heart there rather than be reminded by the chance he missed out on with Piety. With numbers at an all time low, Roosemooth and Cheedo came to join the Monadnock looking to start their lives anew without Craw.
Their first tests of leadership occurred soon after when Lachesis and Lilya from Hearthwood came to their borders with harrowing news. Their own member, Mittani, had attacked a pregnant Lilya and the wolves had come for an answer and swift justice. Upon hearing this, Piety and Wraith apologized for their packmate's behavior and promised them justice. Lachesis demanded the male be removed from the pack or there would be no further alliance between the packs. While politically forced to accept, Piety and Wraith agreed readily for they had decided it was the only suitable course of action.
Their return atop the Monadnock was far from silent and drew a crowd as Wraith and Piety faced Mittani. While his mate remained a stony monolith of support, Wraith snarled at the Morelli wolf and demanded his exile while Cheedo and Roosemooth were drawn by the raised voices. As the wolf left Whitestone behind, Wraith ordered Cheedo to send word to Hearthwood that the deed was done while Roosemooth struggled to hide his glee that his rival was gone.
Following Mittani's banishment, Wraith took Roosemooth, the newly elected advisor, along with him to visit the Wild Rye pack and extend an offer of peace. The two packs had been at odds thanks in no small part to a clash of personalities, but now could enjoy the benefit of each other's presence.
Not long after, Piety gave birth. Though one pup was lost, the other was strong and has since been giving his packmates a new future to look forward to.
