It has been another tough year for Willow Ridge but not one that has been without hope. With the loss of Morganna and her followers, the pack takes a blow to its member count causing worry to stir within the ranks. However, a light comes in the form of Attica, another child of Skoll. The leaders are quick to take the girl in and provide for her with the help of her half-brother Sven who keeps a watchful eye on her. However, tragedy strikes again when Willow Ridge suffers the casualty of Adele. Shaken by this blow, the pack does its best to move past this death but its male leader, Nicolo, finds it difficult to move on from his sister’s death and neglects the pack. With this in mind, he peacefully transfers leadership over to Renier, whom he feels has remained loyal and will get the pack out of the rut they are in.

Still, unrest stirs within the male ranks of Willow Ridge as Sven becomes ambitious, longing to become the leader he believes he can be and thinks the pack needs. With this in mind, he challenges Nicolo, obtaining the rank of Second and not long after acquires the lead position of the pack. After losing his position of leadership, Renier takes his leave of Willow Ridge to go find Morganna. While this occurs on the male side of the ranks, a more peaceful shift in leadership occurs on the female side. Elettra, plagued by old age and an old injury, feels that it is best to pass the torch to her long-time loyal Second, Enoki. While all seems to be in balance, another heartbreak strikes within the pack in the form of Elettra’s death by a broken heart upon her discovering the frozen corpse of her mate who had been guided home by the ever illusive Niles.

Even though Nicolo is not the lead male within the pack, he still finds himself enthralled by Enoki. While out with her in Fireweed Rise, they mate sealing a new generation for Willow Ridge. Not long, though, Sven goes missing, leaving the pack confused and disorderly. Ravenna is determined to do her best to find him despite the fact that his scent is leading outside of the territory and heads to Charred Ash Draw to inform them of what happened but promises to return. In the weeks that followed, the pack gathered together to make sure that the new litter of Archers would be born safely. With Nicolo back at the helm of Willow Ridge, a new hope arises in the form of Adeltra and Romanov Archer, and Elle, a pup that was brought in after her mother gave her up to Eskil in hopes of Enoki taking on her care after believing she could not herself.
