Grizzly Hollow has had a rough year plagued by the disappearances (and occasionally, reappearances) of many members. In the late fall, the leader – Oula Whitebark – decided she needed to look for the rest of the Whitebark clan, as well as Rook Lyall, who’d disappeared earlier that month. Yvly Dormor had taken her role as leader, but the curse of female alphas was soon to follow, as she soon disappeared before the winter was over. Amaryllis had taken her place – and currently reigns as alpha – but several others had come and gone through the fall and winter.

Spring was perhaps the most chaotic time for the pack with the advent of the breeding season. Oula (who’d returned and rejoined by then, though without Rook – he’d find his way back and off and back again in time) and Pip, the resident omega, both decided it was time to bring new life into Grizzly Hollow…without speaking to any alpha. Rook too decided he wanted pups and found a willing mother in Amaryllis – but neither spoke to resident alpha (and Rook’s mate) Veho. Once it was revealed there were three incoming litters, Veho put the females on probation. Briefly, it looked like Nineva would be taking over as she rose through the ranks, but Tomen’s unexpected departure from Grizzly Hollow ruined her plans, and she soon departed after.

Spring brought three litters and the departure of Felix (not long after the disappearance of Joan). Cinder also returned after a long departure. But the drama was not over, because only right after her first birthday did Ophelia run into trouble – while she might have killed the wolf who’d attacked, the young wolf only made it home before she passed away, capping off an unfortunate year for Grizzly Hollow.
