The year started with high tensions within Secret Woodlands. With tensions high between the alphas and jealousy forming within the ranks, it was hard for the hierarchy to work alongside one another. The power struggle between Miccah and Nina reached new heights and before the tension reached a breaking point, Koda Reinier reclaimed his spot as alpha. A direct result of that was Mirren and Kite needing to take their leave in order to ensure their family’s safety. Nina is quick to give them her blessing to leave, having full faith that they will return when they can.

Meanwhile, official news comes from Narimè of Whisper Caverns, informing Nina that Sloane had disappeared and that her brother, Ash Hervok, had risen to power. This news only strengthened the bonds that Secret Woodlands already shared with Whisper Caverns, especially when the news comes that Danica, Nina and Koda’s missing daughter, has joined their allies. Unfortunately, news of other betrayals also accompany Narimè’s tales. Minka, a former member of Whisper Caverns, had broken off from the pack, taking a few members with her to form her own pack. As a sign of alliance between Narimè and Nina, the matriarch declares the formed pack as Secret Woodlands enemies, knowing full well that traitors were not tolerable within their packs.

Winter comes and goes, but not without throwing a fatal blow to the pack. Because of a dangerous, late blizzard, two pack mates disappear. Pacem, a royal child, and Aideen, the pack's healer. Search parties are sent out as soon as it is safe, but as the months drag on, it is clear that there could be a chance of them never returning. During this time, Koda and Iopah grow close, and in time, begin a relationship.

Tensions with the neighboring Downs pack continue to rise and come to a head as one of their members is attacked by wolves of the Woodlands. During this tenuous time, Koda seeks out Nina for permission to breed with Iopah. His request was denied and in the heat of mating season, a betrayal is made. Koda and Iopah are banished and Nina makes it clear that they are never to return. Unfortunately, Silentium, Nina's son, joins them.

With war looming in the horizon, Secret Woodlands is hit with blow after unforgivable blow. Miccah once again rises to power, but the pack is fragile. Luckily, Mirren and Kite return, and Mirren claims leadership over the pack. Thankfully, not long after their return, Pacem and Aideen find their way back home and into the safety of their family. After days of recovery, it seems that Secret Woodlands is finally taking its comeback. With Mirren’s return, Nina’s sanity slowly begins to return and a sense of normalcy returned to their family.

However, with Mirren and Kite’s arrival comes a surprise of their own. Kite expecting a child, followed by Nina’s own daughter, Danica. Acknowledging that both were much like her own children and the breeding had been done outside of her command, Nina was quick to shelter them from whatever it is they needed. Danica, being much like the loner she is, gives birth to Daniel, away from pack lands. Meanwhile, within Secret Woodlands, heartbreak strikes once again when it becomes aware that right after Kite gave birth to her daughter, Lyanna, she disappeared. Needing a surrogate mother for his daughter, Mirren steps in and asks Nina to become the surrogate mother for Lyanna. Only wanting to help, Nina quickly agrees to take on the child until otherwise needed.
