Round Stone Crest started the year under a different name in a different territory; while they currently occupy the Stonewatch Timbers they were once the wolves of Black Thorn Downs who claimed the Blackberry Fields. Last year's litter of two have grown into yearlings of their own right, Kova still within the ranks of the Crest while Noble remains missing after a blizzard separated the pups from their home and each other. After months of being missing the boy returned to his birth pack but the pack has yet to find his dark coated sister, it has been months since finding even the smallest sign of her presence. Despite the turmoil of losing their children Minka and Tokino did their best to remain strong for the pack as subordinates came and went.

The spring that followed the crushing winter was no kinder to the wolves of the Downs, in a desperate attempt to locate missing Noble the pack's herbalist Lugh crossed into Secret Woodland's territory. He was met by Iopah and Camio who brutally attacked the Whelan man, resulting in injuries that festered until one of his hind legs needed to be amputated by one of the pack's newest subordinates Gent. The attack drove Minka to declare war on the wolves of the Woodlands until long term second and scout Inali broke pack law and visited Nina to tell them of the Downs' plans. Nina had already banished both of the attacking members for other crimes and declared them traitors, news which Inali quickly relayed back to Minka. Upon hearing what her second had to say Minka called off the war, though she gave Inali an ultimatum for breaking pack law; stay and cut ties with any members or enemy packs or leave. The second chose her ties with other packs over the Downs and was banished, labelled a traitor for the second time. Bane would choose months later to follow her and return to his birth pack of Secret Woodlands where the former scout had taken refuge.

Set on resolving the conflict as quickly as possible Minka took Gent as her guard to approach the queen of the Woodlands to offer peace between the packs and explain what had happened. The meeting went as smoothly as possible and once more a truce was set between the Woodlands and the Downs. Following through on earlier laid plans Minka took Kova and Raela on a search mission for a new territory to the north, no longer believing that the Downs were the safest place for her new litter to grow. It was then that the territory for Round Stone Crest was discovered and Kova and Raela returned to collect the rest of the pack as Minka stayed behind to prepare her birthing den.

Shortly after officially claiming the territory Minka and Gent set out in search for Tokino who had been missing since going on an expedition to find Noble nearly three weeks earlier. The body of the former alpha was found east of the pack's territory, Tokino had been murdered but his killer's scent was long since faded away. The pair returned back to the territory to share their shocking discovery, though what they had found cemented in Minka's mind that moving the pack had been the right thing to do. Just a couple of weeks after finding her mate's corpse the mother gave birth to a new litter of three; Marianna, Kino and Draven Lagina and found herself a single mother for the first time.

Meanwhile Gent had been busy challenging his way to the top of the ranks, besting Loki, Astreaus and Bane before spending some time as second while Lugh's injuries healed. Finally when the new alpha was well enough to be approached Gent requested that he step down and the herbalist agreed, making Gent the new alpha of Round Stone Crest. In a conversation with Raela about how he should punish Loki for comments made in their battle Gent is confronted by Loki once more who declares that he is leaving the pack making him a traitor. The year has not been kind to the wolves of Round Stone Crest but still they stand strong among the Stonewatch Timbers, connected through the hardships they have faced together.
