Cut Rock River flourished within the forest of Cedarwood Forest. The first generation of its cubs thrived under the solid foundation that made up their pack, each proving to be intricately more different than each other. Serenity seemed to reign over the forest – at least, until young Orren managed to skip past pack borders one day. It was the loyal female Second, Naia, who found the boy, but he was not alone. A she-wolf, Namid, from the Caverns pack had come upon him, and given the packs’ history with one another, tensions quickly rose. Narime came to her subordinate’s rescue, and Kisla solidified that without any doubt, if a Cavern wolf came so close to their borders once more, they would be met with a far more hostile greeting than what they had seen.

While the River wolves held more enemies than friends, it was of great relief to the pack when Naia returned from a scouting mission, informing her leaders of the disbandment of Hollowheart Keep. With only Whisper Caverns remaining as a threat, the pack would have a decent winter, in comparison to the last. Lachesis, their loyal male Second and healer, found love with a girl by the name of Capella, though this union would leave a broken hearted Bastet in their wake. The mateship would not last long – Capella proved to be a wolf with the desire to keep moving, and much to the disbelief of her mate, she left the pack without word. Lachesis, grieving, sought solace in Bastet – and what had once been a beautiful friendship evolved to more, though come spring, the two would struggle with their limitations of being lovers without the permission to breed.

Naia found love as well – though this was during her travel as a scout.. and with another of her gender. Inali, a she-wolf from Cut Rock River’s ally, Black Thorn Downs intrigued her far more than any other had.. and her love for the woman was reciprocated – but kept a carefully guarded secret. Even Karpos, the youthful boy who had come to the pack after the disbanding of Pitch Pine Trail, found his own attentions stolen by the captivating Jynx – a young she-wolf seeking to prove herself to the pack as a hunter. Anastasia found her way home once more – though was dismayed that so many changes had happened in her disappearance and even more medical potential came to the pack when a young she-wolf, Amisun, joined their ranks.

Such personal growth for the wolves of the River, and yet, their once peaceful forest was beginning to lose way to conflict. Tensions continued to rise with Whisper Caverns – and after Kisla came upon Ash, the lead male of Whisper Caverns, it became glaringly obvious that the two packs would not seek common ground. When Black Thorn Downs relocated that the wolves of the River began to debate what course of action should be taken – but it was not until Rook, a recent member of the River called for his two leaders did they begin to formulate their own plans. Rook, having gone behind Maksim and Kisla’s back, formed followers to reunite the wolves of the old Grizzly Hollow pack – a pack that’s ettled on the doorsteps of Cut Rock River. After learning this news – and with the knowledge that the boy had managed to anger another pack, Willow Ridge, Maksim and Kisla chased the youth from their borders.. and called their family together.

The decision to leave was not one made easily – and yet pregnant with a second litter, Kisla and Maksim felt it the wisest course of action. It was then that the Cut Rock River wolves left their home behind – and after weeks of traveling, went past the mountains and to a land called Kingsfall, which would happen to be quite close to where their old allies from the previous Black Thorn Downs had settled.

The wolves explored the area they had begun referring to home – and even found their numbers growing when a one-eyed wolf named Kjors joined their ranks, his loyalty seemingly placed upon the princess Karina’s heart.. Though he has brought suspicion to others -- including Naia. As they settled, the pack made their claim to Hearthwood River – but not before Kisla gave birth to two cubs: Inna and Lekalta, who were born not a day apart from when Aleksei, Orren and Karina entered the adult ranks as yearlings.

The borders have only begun to smell of an established pack, despite their growing numbers, and yet it would seem the wolves have a dragon amongst them. A recent visit to Broken Timber Pines by Kjors and Naia to seek information of the pack turned in to a brawl – will tension already be knocking at the doors of Hearthwood River?
