Creating one side of the Vale, the Sierra Hills run parallel to Serpent's Pass and could not be more opposite in appearance. The Sierra Hills are rugged, slashed mountains and are perhaps the most desolate area in Relic Lore. However perhaps their most striking feature of all is their deep red appearance when, especially in dawn, can cast a red glow on all of their surroundings. Though at first the Hills may seem impossible to climb, upon closer inspection steep, narrow passages up to the very tops snake throughout the hills. But even with these paths the Hills are a treacherous and exhausting climb which should only be attempted by the most adventurous and resilient of wolves.

This forest's name doesn't need any explanation when you visit it: throughout the trees fern's shroud the floor, forcefully thrusting a burnt orange amongst the green's and browns. Red Fern Forest is almost constantly teeming with wildlife, the continous colour attracting a huge variety of animals, from the large to the small. Like the Vale itself, the forest hides many secrets deep down in the ferns, and who knows what you could find if you dip below their surface. It is easy to hide away in the vast forest that shrouds most of the valley it is hidden in itself, and its secrets may not all be good.

Much like the Vale itself, the Falls are a hidden secret that wolves have stumbled across, only to forget the location soon after. It is rumored that their location changes throughout the Vale, and that the Falls can only be found a certain times of the day, on certain days... Some believe that these rumors were started by wolves with wounded pride in their inability to find them again, while others believe the Falls have a mystical power and to bathe in their waters grants good luck. With constantly crashing waters Secret Falls is anything but quiet, teeming with life from the surrounding Forests and it is said that the only way to find them is to follow the sound of water.

Silence is the first thing a wolf would notice once entering the woods, as it wraps around them and shuts of the rest of the world. Bathed in a ghostly blue glow, which is accompanied by a mysterious fog curling around a wolf's legs, is the cause for this forests' name, rumored to be haunted by spectral beings. The silence often draws larger, more skittish prey, and it is common for deer herds to shelter here. Though eerie to some, other feel drawn by the mystery and beauty the Spectral Woods grants, providing a haven for reflection in peaceful solitude with only ghosts for company.

Sickly looking pine trees dominate the view in Dragonfly Fen. Packed tightly together, the Fen is difficult to trek through. Water that has overflowed from the Clandestine Brook has made the ground soft and muggy in some places. Erosion has worn away much of a definite bank on the Fen side of the Brook and often times the water is murky with mud. Cattails have grown up along these marsh areas, making the Fen an ideal place to hide in. In the deepest part of the Fen, fireflies the only light source, though as the Fen approaches Umbra Copse as you wander deeper into the Deep Forest, even those lights become difficult to see.

On first impressions Umbra Copse may seem foreboding: tall, seemingly never-ending trees that cast a eerie shadow, creating its name's meaning of "Shadowed Forest", but after it is very easy to see its beauty. Normally cast in a shrouding fog, the forest is very thick and impenetrable, making it hard to explore and being the main reason very little is known about its depths. During the day in rare places sunlight can take a wild and successful race for the forest floor, casting some light in the darkness, however other than these rare instances wolves can often find themselves losing track of how long they have been lost amongst the shadows...
