He stirred next to her stretching his legs out and she gave him the room to do so. But as he curled against her once more she embraced him. She really didn't want to leave for this moment to end but the thought was starting to create an urgency within her. She expressed her desire to stay there with him but she hoped he understood the many reasons why they couldn't.

It was almost music to hear him agree with her sentiment. Even though he agreed she worried for him and that she couldn't push from her mind. Even as her eyes slid closed at the touch to her cheek and the following kissed that was placed upon her she couldn't forget. She cared for Hagar a lot and she wanted to protect him.

Her eyes opened slowly as he asked her a question. "I'm supposed to be leaving the Ridge today," she told as she placed her paw over his, "I told Scully four days I would be gone." She spoke quietly then sighed before looking into his eyes. She felt badly that they had shared what they had and now she had to leave.

Her answer was not one he expected, surprise showing briefly in his eyes. Was she undertaking another diplomatic mission, so soon and during her heat? Why alone? It didn't occur to him her wish to find a father outside of the pack, not when she had three healthy men under her direct.

"You're comfortable going alone? I could escort you again."

Though he trusted she had her reasons. If she didn't wish to share them, he would simply trust her judgment. Avella was intelligent and strong, able to care for herself.

The fact of the matter was that she'd hated every moment it took to tell him she had to go. Hagar wasn't just some guy she met in the forest. She knew him and cared about him. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt him.she could change her mind, decide not to go but then Scully would want to know why. What would he do?

"I'll be okay," she told him with an smile and brushed her muzzle against his, "I'm an Archer woman. Besides I need you here to help Scully protect the Ridge and watch over the others for me. Will you do that for me?"

She wasn't worried about traveling on her own with her heat. It wouldn't be the first time. Avella knew what she was doing and had every faith in herself.

She reassured him, and gave him a different task. Hagar did not argue, nor did he ask any more questions. Had she wanted him to know, she would have simply told him. He gave her a nod, before touching his nose to her cheek again, showing his affection.

"Travel safe."

There was little more for him to do. If Avella had somewhere to go, then so be it. Hagar would be loathe to ever try and stand in her way. It'd likely be a foolish choice for any wolf.

She hoped he wasn't hurt by the fact she wasn't taking him with her this time. She understood his concern and it would be a little strange not having him with her. In the past she'd always taken him with her on her missions. She smiled at his touch and returned it with a lick to his chin.

"Thank you Hagar. I'll be safe and back before you know it. I'll be leaving knowing I can count on you."

She knew she needed to get going so she rose to her feet. After placing a kiss on his cheek she spoke her goodbye, "I'll see you in a few days." With that she turned and started her journey once more.
