Isomne Yvain
backdated to 7/9/22 for that extra fresh just-rained goodness!
AW, one other only please! tags for mentions.

With no particular destination, Isomne had taken some time to walk by herself today. Drenching rains had brought them a reprieve from the drought, and so she was searching for something to stock the caches with, though simply scouting and becoming more familiar with the landscape around the vale was her personal goal for the day. The bardic woman was beginning to settle in, finding ways to be useful to the wolves of the Chasm and @Woya, who had been generous enough to allow her to call their home hers too.

Things seemed to be going smoothly enough, though the constant pressure on the pack to secure food and water had so far left little time for socializing or other pursuits. Mostly this meant the daily drudgery, rather than singing or storytelling, but Is was not one to complain about sharing such a burden. Instead she looked for chances to sing while she worked, to talk to her packmates when she could and try to find new songs and stories. She was humming gently even now as she stepped through the rejuvenated greenery, though this was perhaps not the best way to go about hunting, it did help to make the trip more pleasant. It was only when she heard the rush of the stream that she stopped, seeking out the source of the sound. It was the sweetest music she had heard in a long time.

Unknowingly, Is had wandered back to a place familiar to her, albeit only from a winter's memory. She'd first met @Alarick here, before their brief travels together and separation. There had been a frost on the first of the spring flowers that day, she recalled. The realization brought her up short, as she stood looking about, seeing the world as it had been and as it was now as if in a dream. She couldn't help but wonder how her friend had been since then, and where his path had taken him. She hoped the fates had been kind to him.
