....a role play sample (200+ words):
Indigo had been hesitant at first to tussle with the snorting, bucking animal, but Constantin's words emboldened her. She looked over her shoulder at him with a grin. Then she began to stalk. It felt a little silly, but the best hunters knew how to keep low and quiet until the right time to strike. She could do this! Belly low to the ground, she crept around the pronghorn while it shook its head angrily. Soft steps until she was at the side of the not-deer and looking at its tan flank. It stared her down. She wasn't hidden at all, but it wasn't like the deer-thing could escape, right?
Indi wiggled her haunches, getting into position to attack. She had watched a few hunts now and had seen where to bite down to weaken prey. A wisp of doubt drifted into her mind, wondering if she'd even manage to get her teeth into the deer-thing. She shook it away and locked in.
"I can do this," she reassured herself. It was a foolish measure, but it calmed her anyway. And then she pounced. She landed rather clumsily against the pronghorn's shoulder as she tried to bite its neck. The animal let out a panicked and furious bleat and struggled harder against its constraints. Its head swung dangerously toward her. She didn't even manage to break skin before it sent her tumbling to the ground, its efforts to escape now doubled.
and finally a bit about your character...
Indigo is lost and struggling with the changing structure of her pack and family. She has been trying to cling to her father since her mother disappeared and her grandmother disappeared. She's trying to be the same bubbly pup she once was, but recent months have tired her.
