Sacred Grove The woes of growing up

When Archer pulled her tighter against him Kateri snuggled into his fur. This was where she knew she was meant to be. He made her feel safe, like there wasn't anything to worry about. "I'm sorry too Archer but I'm still here and I'm not planning to go anywhere." She thought Archer would need her just as much as she needed him.

"Can we be like this always?" She asked as he groomed her. Her voice was quiet not wanting to ruin the moment they were having. It was so different from others they had but it felt like the way things should be.

Archer Valle

Quiet moments like this, where they were actually content, seemed so rare these days. There was a lot of quiet itself, but the very air was sick. Every breath felt like poison in Archer's lungs, but here he was breathing cleanly. Here, everything would be okay.

Archer nodded. "Always," he said, not fully thinking about the implications of such a promise. He'd seen so many of his family leave; he had so little faith in the consistency of those around him. But Kat and Eros always came back. He could trust them - only them.

Archer is very haggard and thin; it is obvious he is not doing well.

The moments when it was just she and Archer were some of her most treasured. He'd been there for her through so many things. She tried to be there for him through everything he needed. "Good, I can't imagine my life without you in it." Kateri never wanted to have think about that.

Archers continued grooming cause feeling to stir up inside the young woman. She'd never felt these sort of feelings. Without a word Kateri reached out and playfully tugged Archers ear before she leap away and fell into a play bow. Her tail swayed over her back as she invited him to join her.

Ever since he'd met her, Archer had adores Kateri. She was beautiful and smart and wanted to help others in a way he felt kinship with. She'd been his best friend since he first set foot in Cove territory. When she left her birthplace shed come to him and that feeling of elation had never fully gone away. He couldn't imagine what it would be like if she left and never came back.

Before he could echo her sentiment she suddenly tugged on his ear and retreated. He blinked at her in surprise, then narrowed his eyes as a playful grin split his face. He mirrored her bow and then pounced after her.

She hadn't meant to surprise him with her actions but she couldn't help the smile that crossed her inky lips when she saw that she had. When he pounced after her Kateri was quickly on her feet a sharp laugh filling the air around them. She really had no idea what had gotten into her but this felt right. Whatever this was.

She bounded toward hoping she could pounce on him. Something inside her craved his touch and wanted more. If she was successful in her move she would land on top of him before placing a kiss on his cheek.

Kat danced away and Archer followed, laughing along with her. It felt good. He hadn't laughed like this in such a long time, nor had he tussled with someone since he was little. He'd forgotten how good it was to play.

He saw her coming and feigned an attempt to escape before she landed atop him. He allowed himself to tumble over even as she kissed his cheek. He rolled to get his feet under him, reaching to return the gentle kiss.

As their play started and continued it was easy to forget all of the bad things that had happened. It was just her and Archer and they could be happy in each other's company. In the back of her mind she knew that they wpuld have to return to all of that but it was easier to ignore with the feelings and instincts that were coursing through her.

His attempt to escape her advance was thwarted as she landed on top of him. She rolled onto her tummy as ge rolled to get his feet under him. She closed her eyes as he returned her kiss. She crawled closer toward him to nibble under his chin amd down his neck.

Their game was quickly changing and Archer's thoughts were soon clouded by Kat's scent. She just smelled so good and with them tumbling like this and her nibbling his chin he couldn't smell anything else.

He tilted his head as she nibbled, closing his eyes to enjoy the sensation, before turning his face and running his nose along the back of her neck before nibbling the base of her ears. "I adore you," he murmured into her fur.

His scent and the need she had for his touch drew her into him in a way it hadn't before. Their game had turned into something much more intense and intimate then it had have been between them. Kateri didn't shy away from it because of how right it felt to be there with him. Later she woukd think their their relationship had been working up to this, up to becoming more than just friends.

A soft sound left her throat as he ran his nose along the back of her neck. Her skin felt on fire as he began to nibble at the base of her ears. The words he spoke made ger heart jump a little in her chest. "I love you Archer," she whispered against his fur.

Instinct fully took Kateri over at this point as she rose to her feet and stepped away before inviting him to join her in letting their instincts guide them.
