He’d spent so much time here, and developed relationships he’d thought would last a lifetime… in some ways, they would. The Backwater had left it’s mark on him, just as all the wolves inside of it had. That would never change, regardless of where he settled down.
He raised his maw, calling for Eros and Viorel as he waited patiently. His daughter had passed through here, of that he was certain. It was a feeling deep in his gut… perhaps Viorel or Eros had found her… perhaps she was there, in the pack. The only way for him to know was ask. He couldn’t smell her, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t there… perhaps she was recovering in the infirmary from an illness or something?
Or perhaps he was grasping at hopes and dreams of what he wished were true. It took everything in him to sit there, rather than charging through and risking the wrath of anyone who called it their home.
