Absence Log & Character Removals
It has been noticed that there has been abuse of the absence log recently (even if not intentionally!) and we wanted to place a reminder to our members our expectations at Ruins of Wildwood.
First and foremost, RoW will always take a stance that real life is always more important than the stories of our characters and our made up world here. However, the extended absences that are occurring rather frequently are also unfair to your fellow role-players, as it withholds them from developing their stories as they wait for replies from others.
Absences should not exceed any more than three weeks. This is not unreasonable, given RoW's minimum posting requirement is only one post every two weeks. If a person is unable to maintain this for all of their characters, it is suggested by staff that one should consider cutting down on the number of characters they have. There is no reason why any dropped characters cannot return in the future once you have more time for them. Majority of us are adults or students -- our time is not only valuable, but it is also sparse. Becoming too busy is perfectly understandable. We even have the NPC feature that might be an option to our busy role-players and hrlp mitigate their stress level.
Characters that are on the absence log that do not have one IC post made within one month (aka absent for over three weeks, our maximum allowable absence length) will be manually removed from the game without warning. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
