<blockquote>Rhysis nodded towards his female and allowed her to lead the way, each member of the pack in tow and Rhysis took the rear. As they left the pack borders in search of their meal, he couldn't help but observe the difference in the forest here. The further away from the lake they got, the denser the forest and the different the sights, smells and sounds. It was like another territory, untouched by other wolves; no wonder the deer were hiding here.
Eventually they were onto a fresh scent, a herd not far and as luck would have it, downwind from their small pack. With any luck, each wolf would know their place and what they were doing. He would allow Ava, their leader hunter, to take charge of his group whilst Naira and Athena would slip off and do their duty further down.
Silence surrounded the group as they got closer and with a final nod from the dark male, they would seperate into their groups and head off to do their duties. Signals were going to be key here and with a final nudge to his females cheek, and a look which clearly read "stay safe"... and one to Athena to ensure she did just that, he glanced to Ava and Chantille, giving them a nod and allowed room for Ava to lead the way and for the group to dispurse when they were ready.
So far, they had been undetected by the herd. It consisted of around 20 creatures and several young; spring was the perfect time to attempt a hunt. All members were grazing within a small clearing where the sun could shine on their backs and the grass was sweetest. All around the clearing the treeline was dense, perfect. Everything was perfect; so why did the dark male have a feeling something was going to go wrong? With a shove, he pushed the unsettling feeling away and looked to Ava for instruction.
