Dacian Quinlan
Random Event: Dacian, a bug gets in your eye. For @Felyx only.

Dacian still hadn't made it far, much to his own chagrin. There was more than one thing miring him now, though he was dutifully doing his best not to truly think about either of them. He didn't like complexity, wanted to only ever have to worry about what lie directly at the surface. That didn't keep the nets from constantly entangling his paws all the same, insistent on pulling him deeper.

He had fished himself up a meal, and stowed away with it amongst a particularly plush grouping of ferns. Moonlight struggled to make it past the thick boughs high above, but the dark just made the fireflies glow all the brighter. He watched them dance as he munched, and found that he was actually feeling a little... peaceful. The incessant chattering of thoughts just a whisper.

Then he heard a high-pitched, almost-whine and something made contact with one of his copper eyes. The feeling was sharp and burned and made his skin crawl all over his body. The yearling shot to his paws and bellowed out, "fucking dammit!" composure and serenity completely scattered in the wake of the assault.

Felyx
Felyx was hunting.

Not in any normal sense, no, but Dacian's wandering scent had hit his nose and he hadn't been able to keep from trailing it like a shark after blood. There was no promise of violence in this hunt at all - Felyx would never dare hurt such a valuable entertainment piece - but the thrill was there all the same as he stalked through the brush after the other boy.

It was a beautiful night, objectively. Dark, for certain - Dacian would be hard to spot in the inky blackness - but dotted with the pinpricks of light that belonged to fireflies speaking in their own language.

He was getting close, now. The scent was strong, interwoven with a hint of fishiness that had Lyx's mouth watering, and he'd just caught sight of pointed ears backlit by moonlight when-

Fucking dammit!

Felyx straightened a little at the sudden exclamation, brow arching in confusion. Curiosity won over the little game he'd made for himself and he got to his feet, padding the rest of the way over.

"What're you yelling at?" he asked simply, tipping his head. Not concerned - never - but certainly curious.
