She grabbed the strip of bark and as gently as she could wrapped it around the darker girl's paw, taking care to not be rough as she made sure it was firmly wrapped to compress the joint, but not too tight that it would cut off circulation. That would be even worse. She would have liked to make a poultice to spread on the inner part of the bark that could help soothe the pain and ease some of the inflammation, but with winter still going strong that just was not an option. Oh well, this would have to do.
"There you go," she said warmly once the bark was properly wrapped, sitting back on her haunches with a mildly pleased expression. It was not her best work by any means - no poultice and the bark could be a little more pliable - but she was satisfied with what she had been given to work with. "Now just try not to put any weight on the paw for at least a day, preferably two if at all possible, then you can start to gently use it to walk around." Her words were much more gentle than the previous more ordered instructions, but once again there was a firm undertone to make sure Ana knew it was important to follow her advice.
