Alaska Donovan
<b>OOC:</b> <i>Hi, I'm still kinda a new and unfamiliar with the grounds and things. If I get something wrong then I'm willing to fix it. Also if something is a bit leaky about Alaska in this post then read her profile... I tried to explain most of it.</i>

<i>Mostly Cloudy — Current Temperature: 49° F/9° C</i>

The wind blew gently though the snow crystals that covered the ground. Evergreen pines shook, and the sunlight barley shown. Though the shadows of the evening she sat. Head high, fluffy tail curled around her, amber eyes bright as the sunlight in the morning dew. She was Alaska Donovan. You could have mistaken her for a gold statue as she rested at the base of an old tree, looking at the land below her.

<i>Not a soul in sight!</i> She huffed at her own thoughts. Traveling for days wasn't good enough? <i>Seriously you didn't expect someone to just walk over to you saying: Hey, you can join our pack!</i> Alaska battled within. Her life had been lonely has it could have been... Wake up. Hunt. Explore. Sleep. It went over and over again until she had found a used, but conformable den by a rather big willow. Deep down she knew she wanted to try pack life, after all she was seeking new experiences whenever she could.

The pure snow crunched under her weight as she walked. Right. Left. Right. Left... <b>"Ouch!"</b> Alaska yelped in surprise. Lifting her left paw lightly she hoped three legged to a nearby rock and set her aching paw on it. Nervousness started to fill her stomach as she glanced wide eyed around Luna Hill. Letting out her breath which she had been holding in she waited until the pain stopped. Not very long ago she had been though a very painful injury which had never quite healed itself. A burden which she had never told anyone about, as the female always feared: If someone knew about her 'not completely' healed injury, they'd make her stop hunting.

Taking deep breaths she moved on, trotted on the hill top. Looking, waiting... for someone to come along. It had lately been driving her crazy not talking to anyone even though she was quite a private wolf. The female doubt there was even an existing wolf that she could actually let her true self out too. For Alaska's nut shell could be cracked, if someone worthy came along.

Hi, AJ :)

<blockquote>In what he viewed as a selfish wanderlust fulfillment, Kade had spent the night and day away from the Hollow. He would tell himself that he just needed space and air to clear his mind, a little quality time with himself to put some things in perspective. Of course, he'd not gone unnoticed, and it was in the dark of the night that Jaysyek had found him, ripping a shadowy course through the Ghastly Woods. He'd yet to come to any one conclusion, or to find any answers, as he thought he needed. Nevertheless, he'd committed what was left of the night and most of the following day to taking the long way home, a path that led him west and south, right through Blackberry Fields.

The aching of his paws, at this point, was beginning to feel like the aching in his head, and the ebony and silver shaded male tried to focus on the shades of the dirt underfoot as he moved. His timing was nearly perfect, and at this rate he'd reach the cedar forest just before the moon should hang as high as it may. The hard silver in his eyes grew colder as the sun began to fade, casting a dark veil on the land in every direction behind him.

As twilight descended, he had reached a small, rolling clearing, a number of scattered willow trees constituting some of its perimeter. For a moment his pace slowed - it was a beautiful scene. Like ice-covered jewels, the dead blackberries that remained after winter had settled upon Relic Lore covered a frostbitten landscape, delicately preserved in shades of grey. A chilling gust rustled through his thick coat, and as a deep breath of arctic air was taken he'd nearly choke on it. At the base of an old willow tree lay what he'd first thought was a mirage; a mysterious female whose beauty was so that she had nearly evaded his sweeping eyes as they admired the dusk scene. A calm curiosity overcame him as he observed for a moment longer, watching her eyes as she looked for...<i>anything</i>, to no alas.

The brute called out to the winter creature, a gentle tenor tone ringing clear among the whistling of winds that passed them both, hidden among the rolling hills of the blackberry fields.</blockquote>

It seemed like days the she-wolf sat, patient, silent, waiting. Snow clung to her coat with white speckles and spots. The winds blew and blustered around her, but she only lay her ears back and closed her eyes. She could see a few bare shreds of life around her. The winds that blew no longer cut her to the very quick of her being, yet they were still cold enough to pull her paws and tail in close to her to keep them from cracking. The she-wolf looked …thin to say the least, the wear and tear of her traveling and the sheer strength of will had near done her in. Yet here she sat, a show of loyalty even in her refusal to take food from the mouth of the pack of this area. Suddenly, she was ripped out of her reverie of thoughts, and constant stomach cramps. Her nose twitched back and forth as the scent of another wolf filled her nostrils. The wind did not lie, her amber eyes closed for a moment and she hauled her body into an standing position.

She memorized the other wolf's scent, the way his fur mixed with black and splashes of silver. It was obvious from looking at the wolf that he was a male. The stranger's call entered her ears, and while her own ears came forward, she pushed her eyes past the wolf. She would not meet his eyes in a show of defiance but she could not look completely down either. She relaxed her body posture to show she was no threat but her eyes remained level with the males, although not meeting them directly.

Who was he? Her voice, smooth and soft pushed past her lips to say something. <b>"Alaska Donovan..."</b> Wondering for a moment if she should say more to avoid any misunderstanding. Her tail idly swished to the side, brushing away a small heap of snow.

Alaska was seemingly not afraid of the wolf before her, but she was respectful enough to keep her body posture relaxed, and low, and her ears pricked forward to her hear. It was there in the silence that the wind whipped between the two wolves. One light as day, even as the sky on a clear summer day, and one as black as midnight with splashes of silver. Her head tilted and she eagerly awaited what would come next.

<blockquote>Perhaps the wind was quicker than he'd gauged; nearly as soon as the notes slipped from his body did she shewolf rise from her icy nook at the foot of the lifeless willow, spotting his dark figure among the rifts of snow that had hardly hidden him. The interest that he had initally embraced deepened as he noted her emaciation, a condition that could take the female's life during such a season. Though her coat was soft, full, beautifully patterned, it lacked the shine characteristic of a nutritionally sound wolf. Snorting softly, as to, for a moment, rid his lungs on the cold air that cut through their passages, Kade slowly began to close the distance between them, the moon hovering in peace overhead as the last rays of sunlight vanished.

The brute stopped short of what he'd considered personal space, less he scare her, looking her over carefully. It was obvious that she refrained from looking into his gaze, something that he could understand but was not necessary. He was no alpha, and even if he were, he'd not approached her as such. Honestly, he could have passed her by, saving himself precious time that he depended on to make it home; but something about her stature, the isolation of the meadow...he wouldn't leave her to fend for herself in the night. The shewolf spoke her name, <i>Alaska Donovan</i>, which he comitted to his memory with a nod before offering a quick introduction, stretching his thick neck as to almost touch the tip of his own nose to hers before drawing back. Lowering his stance, he spoke softly. <b>"Kade Attaya."</b> She may not yet look him in the eye, but he couldn't help but to look into hers, roving through the folds of color - a warm gold, quite the contrast of his own icy silver. If only the night were as warm...

His decision was made upon a whim - he'd not return to Cedarwood Forest tonight. Instead, he'd commit the night to finding shelter, somewhere where the pair could <i>rest</i>, which was what he needed, absolutely, and something she may benefit from as well. As gusts tore through the meadow, strengthened by the drop in temperature, he notioned for her to follow his path, should she choose to do so, as he forged his way toward the boundary of the Thicket to the west.</blockquote>

<b>OCC:</b> <i>I may not be able to reply tomorrow, due to school exams. Hope you don't mind... Also Alaska's afraid in the dark.</i>

It could have been the wolf himself or just the way she was feeling today that made her relax. The pale moon shown, it's light rested upon the creatures that stood below. Darkness had come, but Alaska didn't feel the tensing in her body she usually did when night fell. It was probably the fact that there was someone with her, she couldn't think of anything else.

The male approached her, stopped short which she hadn't minded. He looked at her for a while before breaking the silence that embraced the night. <i>Kade Attaya.</i> Alaska listened attentively before nodding her head in response. His name was interesting, one that she was sure she'd remember for a long time. Kade hadn't seemed to mind that she didn't make any eye contact. She hadn't been sure about him until he approached her.
It had surprised her when she looked into her eyes. Although it was hard not to respond to it. The feeling that have come over her when he looked into her eyes made her look into his silver ones.

A shiver broke her contact as she looked over him once more. He had given her a notion and that was all it took. A small smile danced across Alaska's face, as she knew that this night she wouldn't have to been afraid. Stepping forward she walked up next to him.

Sorry for the wait, I've not felt very creative or energetic. May not be, still.

<blockquote>The trek was cold and into the night the precipitation had increased; flurries of snow whirled about the wolves as they sought refuge, at times coating the tips of his pelt in a thin layer of ice. From time to time he would scale aspects of the landscape, searching the distance for some hidden shelter that may be, knowing that he was running out of time. At this rate, it would appear that the mountain would spew rains of ice into the morning.

He'd look back to her, the quiet follower who, for now, was safe beneath his wing; <i>Don't lose hope</i>, his silver pools would convey to her reassuringly, squinting against the winds that rustled through the black and silver of his muscular figure.

Beneath a silver, clouded sky he would come to find exactly what he was looking for in what would seem to be just in time. Deep within an untouched hollow, shielded from the weather by way of the thick foliage surrounding it, was the mouth of an abandoned den. He'd been here before, many of the nights that he'd spent in the northland during his days as a loner. Observing that the area was seemingly safe for now, though with less satisfaction than he'd desired, the male entered through a small, dark hole into the earthen underground space. Only after assuring that it was empty and secure, he poked his head back out. <b>"All clear."</b></blockquote>
