Her beloved brothers, Hotei and Indru, were gone. She had searched for Indru for what seemed like ages after he had gone hunting and never returned. Her journey had taken her many miles from Swift River, from her home, from her family she cherished so dearly. And just as everyone else had given up on Hotei ever being found after that awful fire, Torla had, at long last, given up hope of seeing Indru again, either. Life was simply unfair. Her parents, and now too many of her siblings -- gone. When would it ever get better? When would the pain ever go away?
And so, Torla had made her way back to Relic Lore, back to the Swift River pack. At least she still had some family left there. She hoped so, anyway. She was hopeful, but that dark cloud over her head snickered, "No, they've all left and it's all your fault!" Ducking her head low, Torla padded on until the scent of her beloved family reached her nose. And within those scents -- could it be? The scent of her brother, Indru, was fresh. Was it really possible he was back?
There was only one way to find out.
The pale girl threw her head back in a beckoning howl to her family. I am here, I am here! her voice sang. She could only hope someone was nearby. Torla didn't want to be alone for another second.
