Blitz Mizuno
@Niq'x, @Kelp, @Tyne, @Nauja
This is a meeting for our ocean wolves to decide on a course of action regarding their situation. It can be assumed that @Kelp has already been informed about @Tyne and @Nauja's presence in Relic Lore.
@Niq'x post first please, then everyone else.
Early morning. Light mist. 13*F, -7*C

BLITZ

As the weeks passed, Blitz had grown restless. While he may have been reunited with his littermate, Niq'x, who he kept well in his sights, there was little cause to ease his anxiousness. Word had reached him that now, even more of his ocean loving family, had been suddenly and mysteriously brought to this strange land. Tyne, Nauja and Pip had all followed, although no one had caught a trace of the youngest female yet. Kelp had proven helpful in bringing to attention the presence of his family, yet Blitz also saw this as a cause for concern. Just how many more of them would be torn away from their birthplace? What would happen to everyone else back home?

Put lightly, that was not the least of his worries. The jet black, lithe male was tired of scraping by in this place, sustained off scraps from carcasses and the occasional hare. If he and his family were to survive and thrive here, they would need to make a decision. Either swallow their pride and join one of the resident packs until they built up their strength, or tough it out together as a tightly knit band of nomads. While he respected Kelp as his uncle and elder, this time Blitz was not going to sit around and wait for someone else to step up. With his tawny sister at his side, he proceeded towards their newly agreed upon base camp; Firefly Weir. The little grove was private and close by the water, making it a sheltered yet comfortable enough place to gather for lengthy periods of time. Mist swirling at his paws, he shared a knowing look with Niq'x."I am not waiting anymore. Something has to be done, and all the better that it is done together." With a simple nod, he seated himself by the bank. Shutting his eyes in a brief moment of peace, he then parted his lips and let out a long, deep cry, specifically for his family, who were surely nearby. Calling them for a much needed meeting. Niq'x too, was encouraged to join her voice with his. After all, the two siblings were famous back at Bella Coola for singing together. Rarely, was one voice heard without the other. Blitz was no leader, but someone had to get this ball rolling, and it might as well be him. Sitting back as his cry died down, vivid green eyes picked through the mist for the first sign of anyone coming forward.

Orabelle "Niq'x" Mizuno
@Kelp @Nauja @Tyne

Niq’x had never been a ‘take charge’ kind of wolf. She preferred to stick to her duties as a fisher, where she truly excelled. Back in Bella Coola the young sparrow had hopes of becoming the lead fisher one day — as long as she surpassed both her sister and cousin. It wasn’t because she wanted to be in a leadership position — she cared very little about power — no, Niq’x just wanted to excel in her skill and show how hard she worked for the position. Whatever perks that came along with being the ‘lead’ fisher were merely a bonus, but they were not the ultimate goal.

Her brother, on the other hand, he was a loose cannon. Sometimes unpredictable; sometimes carefully calculated. It depended on how tightly wound he was that day. He would take charge if he felt it was necessary; if he felt there was no other solution. Exhibit A — the meeting of the sea wolves. Over the last few weeks a few more from their home on the coast had arrived in this strange land; a hunter from the Kersey family had arrived with her cousin, Nauja. Recently she had caught scent of their younger sister — Pip — a little north of the lagoon, but it was washed out by the scent of pack wolves and the ever-changing weather. The sea princess knew that they had to find their delicate sister; the mostly mute Mizuno did not do so well with strangers. Niq’x feared for her safety.

With her legs ankle-deep in the water the sea princess glanced over at her brother as he spoke, saying that something needed to be done about their arrival in this strange (stupid) land. She nodded slowly, though she was unsure of what to do. She would not leave without their younger sister in tow — Orabelle refused to leave her behind a second time (even if the first had been unintentional). Without another word, her brother threw back his head to call for the other Bella Coola wolves. A shiver ran down her spine at the sound; it reminded her so much of home, of what had been torn apart by the mystery monsters. She offered her own voice, hoping it would lure @Pip out of the shadows as well, wherever she was. Hopefully the wolves would agree that leaving as soon as possible was their best option — at least, once they found more of their family. Her brother and uncle had been keen on the idea of joining one of the local packs, but what of creating their own? The sea wolves could reign once more — even if it was only temporary. Letting her voice fade out, the sea princess focused her mix-matched eyes on the water that swirled between her toes. Oh, how she wished it was the salty waves of their home…

Tyne Kersey
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It had been a restless night for the tawny yearling. Night time temperatures, as well as impeding thoughts had caused him to gain very little sleep. It was hard for Tyne to sleep in this land locked place, he hadn’t gotten much sleep since he arrived. He was lying in a huddled ball with his eyes closed praying for sleep to come when he heard their call. The famous voices of Blitz and Niq’x momentarily brought the young hunter back to his home. The sound was so familiar yet so foreign. Not wanting to open himself to the bitter cold that accompanied getting up in the morning, he let a huff escape So much for getting any sleep. Lying still momentarily before stretching his creamy limbs out Tyne yawned and got to his feet. He shook out the debris from his coat then trotted towards the lagoon edge.

With a sheepish smile he greeted the Mizuno siblings “Morning y’all”. Niq’x was standing in the only body of water that the agouti male had come across. He wasn’t exactly ecstatic about it but it would have to do for the time being. Speaking of the time being – “So uh, I’m assuming we’re gonna try to make some kind of game plan”, he inquired. Tyne figured that this was the case due to the summons of all the sea wolves. Setting his large haunches on the frozen ground he parted his ebony lips to let out a long yawn. Crinkling his nose afterwards he patiently await everyone else’s arrival.

Nauja Mizuno
@Blitz your turn. sorry for the wait guys.
The change in scenery was beginning to take a toll on the fisherwoman. Her coat, usually radiant from her fish-heavy diet, was beginning to lose it's luster, looking more matte than it ever had. On this particular morning she was sitting on the mossy bank and wishing that it was sand instead. The mists that soaked her fur were light and saltness. The water was too still, too quiet. The fish themselves were languid, putting up hardly a fight. But that was when there were fish. They did not seem to be so plentiful as she would have liked in this lagoon. Too much of this green stuff, she suspected, noting with a sneer the floating motes that turned the water dark and cloudy.

This was not home.

Sighing, she turned to respond to the call that rose up from somewhere nearby. Her jaws were empty when she shifted her weight foreward and stretched out her tortured hind legs that she had been sitting on for some several hours now. Within minutes she arrived at the sad gathering of Bella Coola wolves, just five in number when there should have been dozens. To each of her pack mates she gave a single nod, feeling uncomfortable doing so. There was none to lead them, and she was unsure of how much genuflecting anyone was expecting of her. She was the oldest besides Kelp, who was not here yet. Tyne asked about some sort of game plan, and she looked to Niq'x and Blitz. Nauja had her own ideas, but she wanted to hear theirs first.

Next round! It is to be assumed that @Kelp is either missing or lost.

One by one, the Bella Coola wolves heeded the call, and filtered in. All except for @Kelp. A deep frown pulled at his lips, brows furrowing. He should have been here by now. It wasn't like their Uncle to be late. When it became apparent that the agouti man was not coming, Blitz heaved a sigh. They could worry about him later. There was a more pressing matter that they had to get down to. Lime green eyes flickered to one face and then the next, dark ears pivoting back and then forward again, accounting @Tyne's words. "Yes. That is exactly why Niq'x and I have called this meeting today." He rumbled smoothly, nose crinkling slightly at the reeds and fresh water all around them. "We have no idea where in the hell we are, but it is not home. That being said, we need to make the most of our situation in the meantime." Such meetings of this nature were uncommon back in their homeland. Not unless they were serious, or if the threat of a rival pack too close to their beach was imminent.

Blitz had most certainly not forgotten about his shy, mute sister, @Pip. Just like @Niq'x, who he worried for, he worried over his smaller sister even more. He was concerned about her welfare out here in this foreign land. How would she manage on her own, being unable to speak? What would the locals make of her? He grit his teeth silently. They had better be kind to her, or else... "But before we get down to the details, and a decision, does anyone have any news? Any information they would like to share?" The Bella Coola wolves could use all the intel they could get. Any clues pointing in the right direction home, knowledge of the local packs, and most importantly, if @Pip had been found alive and well.

@Tyne! <3

Tyne trailed in quickly after their call ended, his inquisitive voice breaking the silence that had engulfed the siblings. She nodded simply, her dark lips tight against her teeth as she waited for Nauja and Kelp to show. Despite the yearling hunter the only nonMizuno to arrive in this strange place, he had been with the sea wolves since birth and was seen as family. She was grateful for his presence in this strange place, as he helped to relieve all the tension between family members.

Their cousin arrived shortly after the hunter, but she did not offer her voice. She knew precisely what the meeting was about and what needed to be done. From what the sea princess understood, the two Mizuno girls had similar opinions on what they needed to do, but Niq’x was curious what the hunters thought of their predicament. They waited patiently for the arrival of their uncle, the oldest sea wolf to arrive — but his absence was worrisome. A frown creased her lips at the realization but she remained quiet; the Coho was a big boy and capable of taking care of himself. Perhaps he had wandered too far north and had not heard the call. Satisfied with this conclusion, the sea wolf turned her attention to her inky brother as he spoke, addressing Tyne’s words now that Nauja had arrived.

She snorted in agreement at her brother’s words — it is not home — but wasn’t sure if she agreed about making the most of their situation. Her nose wrinkled at the thought, but she did not acknowledge it just yet — she knew her brother was not finished speaking. It was a struggle to refrain herself from rolling her eyes at her brother taking a sort of leadership position among the current Bella Coola wolves. Niq’x did not like the idea of taking orders from her brother but they needed to figure something out. “Pip is close,” she said suddenly once the air fell quiet once more, her expression alert as she focused her mix-matched gaze on her family. “The last time I caught wind of her scent was in the trees north of the lagoon. I’m going to investigate further in the next couple o’days.” She wasn’t sure if she wanted her brother to be present for the investigation — Tyne or Nauja would be acceptable, but Blootz Blitz was a little hot-headed, especially when it came to their meek little sister (~~foreshadowing~~~).

@Nauja :D

Bright early morning sunlight shone in his tired golden orbs. The lack of sleep was causing his ability to keep them open to lessen. Deciding it was too early to fight it he allowed his lids to close. While soaking up the warmth he kept his charcoal dusted ears forward as to catch the arrival of the other sea wolves that were called to this meeting. What felt like ages was more likely only moments when the agouti boy heard the approach of another. Slowly opening his eyes, allowing them to adjust to the brightness, he saw that Nauja had joined them. He gave her a slight nod of his head in greeting and looked around. There was one – well technically two- Bella Coola wolf missing. Kelp, the uncle of the Mizunos, hadn’t shown up. Figuring the older male probably went to explore just as Tyne had, the boy didn’t worry too much. Blitz also must have thought it wasn’t a big deal as he began the meeting.

The ebony hunter affirmed Tyne’s question, they needed to make a game plan. A grey and rust skill nodded in an agreement to the fact that this strange lands were not their home and that they needed to make the best of it. During his journey across the western part of relic lore he hadn’t acquired too much information that would prove useful to his packmates except about the possible location of Pip. Before his creamy muzzle could part Niq’x was already speaking. She stated that the small mute Mizuno was close and her scent was in the trees north of where they were. While the sparrow hued fisher wasn’t wrong, the agouti hunter had more specific information from his conversation with @Yvly.

“I’ve also caught Pip’s scent to the north” he began, confirming Niq’x statement. “However I also crossed paths with a pack wolf who carried Pip’s scent…” his eyes moved from one sibling to the next and eventually to their cousin and back again. He was unsure if they were already aware of a possible pack involvement in locating their sister so he thought it best to bring it up now.

Nauja Mizuno
@Blitz
For whatever reason, Nauja was apparently even less keen than her cousin to wander about the landlocked countryside. She had remained, for the most part, along the shores of the lagoon without dallying too far away from the sight of water. Perhaps it was getting to her, this land-sickness, but she found that she was rather unlike herself: no longer a nosey busy-body who made everything her business. Maybe she would get used to it, but for now she was in mourning. Blitz asked for information and, surprisingly, she had none to give. She had no idea that she ought to, and had no idea that Pip had already been more or less located. She sat up a little straighter at this.

Nauja assumed the forest Niq'x referred to was the one she had glimpsed in the distance from her nasty wake-up in the meadow. But that was as close as she had gone. What was Pip doing out there? Was their water? Like Niq'x and herself, Pip was another fisher. Already handicapped by her voicelessness, it seemed unlikely that the girl would further the difficulty of her life by living far from a source of water. And a pack apparently, as well?

"No need to be coy," she drawled towards Tyne, who seemed to hint at some information without revealing much at all. "Tell us what you've heard." This, in a sense, covered up her own lack of intel.

Blitz Mizuno

Blitz sat, poised and silent, while he waited for each of his family members to speak. His littermate Niq'x was first of course. The words that left her mouth sent his heart fluttering. Pip. His mild mannered, mute sister. She was nearby, thank goodness. Now all they had to do was track her down, and they would all be happily reunited. He was about to open his maw to express his relief when Tyne added some additional information. Not only was she close, but she was not alone! Her scent had been picked up, intermingled with that of a pack. "What?!" He exclaimed, rising sharply to his feet, dark hairs stiffly on end. He turned his head to the side, lime colored eyes narrowed and pinned to the ground. "Whoever they are, they had better be treating her right. If I find so much as one little hair out of place on her body...!" He threatened, before cutting himself off. Now was not the time to go into a fury. He needed to be calm and level headed, while he and his sister and cousins worked things out.

Drawing in a shaky breath, his dark fur smoothed down again, the fearsome glare in his eyes fading. Reseating himself, he looked expectantly to Tyne. With a stiff, short nod, he encouraged his cousin to continue, as Nauja had also prompted him. "Continue. What else do you know? The more information we have about these wolves Pip is with, the better." He stated, his voice controlled and back to normal. They would get her back.
