Sierra Hills We gotta get out of this place

You discover a maze of paths through a field of tall grass. Can you find your way out?

Well the last thing she expected to find in the edge of the red hills at this time of year was grass this long. Paths weaved this way and that, no doubt the product of some migrating herd. The grass towered well over her impressive height and she let out a sigh, surely it would be faster to cut through it rather than go around.

Her back was aching and her hips were sore, why on earth had she decided to come this far anyway? By now the frost would have killed off the low-lying herbs and while sap was invaluable it was almost impossible to pry from the trunks once the temperature dropped, why she had expected anything to be different in these barren hills she could not be sure. Perhaps a touch of old age was clouding her sharp mind? She would have to make do with chewing on branches to get through the early cold snap and save what she had for when the weather really got nasty.

Taking a moment to look up, she was almost certain she had been turned about. Brows drew down as she considered, turning back to see three paths converging on her own. She shook her head and kept walking forward. She would find her way out eventually and then she would know better than to go trying to take shortcuts with the sun so low on the horizon and no clear view of what was ahead... besides a sudden dead end.
