Woya Macieo
Random Event: An avalanche has made travelling in Serpent's Pass particularly difficult! Be careful!
Woya, @Rhaegara and kiddos @Marrah, @Enera and @Caelyn from Fools Gold Chasm have come to meet the Macieo cousins! They're east of the lake, but Woya's calling for someone to meet them due to the avalanche.
@Aleister @Nash @Aquene @Siyet @Jethro @Oksana @Flair @Moonshadow @Stella

Woya hadn't expected the way down, before so clear and accessible, to now be churned asunder by ice and snow. Unfamiliar with avalanches, she could still guess at what had happened and scoffed at the ruin they would need to make their way either through or around. As if the slides on the way up hadn't been enough to delay them. Her honeyed eyes glanced back at Rhaegara and the children, who she had been leading as the only wolf who knew the way.

"Think we're due for a break," she announced, and settled her haunches down into the snow. When they too crested the small peak, they would see for themselves what she meant. Woya would wait for them to gather, ensuring everyone still had all their toes and weren't too tired, before tipping back her head and sending out a call for the wolves of the Cove.

Their visitors were stuck in the driveway, so to speak.

Enera Rayvne
had a dream so big and loud

JUMPED SO HIGH I TOUCHED THE CLOUDS

Enera was breathing hard; this trip up the mountainside was much harder than she'd expected, and her paws hurt all the time. She tried to keep her complaining to a minimum, though; just murmured whining to her mama at night when she tucked up against her side. She'd never done so much walking in her life. It was so much! How did wolves go up and down this all the time? Didn't the pack up here get tired?

Finally Woya called from up ahead to let them know it was time for a break, and the Rayvne girl nearly cried with relief. She bound up the last bit of the incline, all the sooner to collapse for a rest, and then saw the churned snowy mess that awaited them. She froze in place, then let out a long, dismayed whine. "We have to climb up that?"

@Aleister if Al knew Woya was on her way back up and would have told Nash I'll edit this.

Things had been busy with the influx of youths to keep an eye on. Aleister had made it clear that they were to keep a close watch on Viorel's children to ensure none of them hurt themselves in the harsh mountain terrain, and Nash was doing his best to do just that. He didn't want them to injure themselves either. As such, he was constantly on the watch for any signs of warming-weather danger; there'd already been an avalanche in the pass; he wanted to make sure none were bound for their dens.

He was checking in on the state of the pass itself when he heard a familiar voice. His ears pricked up; what was Woya doing up here? Hadn't she just gone back home? He began carefully but quickly making his way down the treacherous masses of snow that used to be the cleared pass until he saw Woya - with another woman and several pups in tow. "I didn't expect to see you again so soon," he said, smiling as he approached. "Welcome back. And welcome, to the rest of you. I'm Nash." he peered at Woya. "Is everything okay at the Chasm?"

Oksana Baranski
There were so many pups in the cove. At least it seemed like there were a lot more than there actually were. Oksana was dutifully watching over the as much as she could. She was still pretty amazed that they were even having pups from another pack stay with them. However, she'd taken some time away because duties still needed to be carried out and Oksana had always been one to make sure her duties were taken care of.

She was on a border patrol and it was going without incident. That was until she reached the path that would take her into Serpant's Pass. She knew the path well. Once she reached that point of her patrol she was surprised to hear a voice calling from somewhere further down.

The crow detoured her patrol down the path, she hadn't been there in awhile. What she found made her huff air out of her nose, "This is becoming a regular occurance," she stated as she looked down at the tumbled snow amd broken trees. They were going to have to clear the pass.

Rhaegara Rayvne

Rhaegara had never trailed the mountains. Even when travelling from the west to the east she had avoided them by going around them to the North. Truthfully, she didn’t understand why wolves wanted to live up there, but then again she supposed this would be a learning experience for her as well. Woya announced a break and she nodded, joining her as she settled down next to her, keeping a close eye on all of the children. She called for the wolves of the Cove as Rhaegara simply checked in on all of the kids for hunger or thirst or even stubbed toes if that was what it came to.

“Quite the weather they’re having.” She mused, her analytical mind already trying to figure out a way around it. “Not necessarily, Little Dove. We might be able to find a way around it.” She assured her daughter that all hope was not lost yet. “Complaining won’t make it any easier if we do.” She gave her daughter a lighthearted jest to try and help settle her mood. Nash was the one to greet them, and he knew Woya. It didn’t surprise her, the woman had visited already so surely the entire pack knew of her. Rhae offered a friendly smile and a dip of her head in greeting. It had been a long couple of days with the two women wrangling three children.

Marrah Macieo-Tainn

I’m Done Putting Out The Fires You Start

The girl was probably in the worst physical shape out of their small group, but she didn’t want to hold anyone up on her account. Typically she ended up at the rear of the travelers, huffing and puffing, but smiling whenever anyone turned around to check on her. Marrah had thought this was going to be a fun few days of adventure, maybe meet a few cousins, and then head back home. But, she had not expected getting up the mountain to be so difficult, or that there would be so much snow up here.

When Auntie Woya announced that they were going to finally have a break, Marrah took another few steps closer to the group before giving up. Flopping down into the snow to rest her weary legs she did not even get close enough to see the avalanche that was blocking their path. Calling out hopefully she asked, ”Is it going to be this hard getting down too?” Then they were joined by two others that she did not recognize.

Clearly Auntie Woya knew who they were so the girl did not worry too much about it, wagged her tail in a cheerful greeting behind her, but declined to stand. She needed a few minutes to recover, although she could not think of a time she had ever been this tired before.

Woya Macieo
Enera was the first at her side, and Woya watched the girl as she reacted to their newest obstacle, a small and crooked smile on her black lips. Rhaegara was immediately behind her daughter, and the paler woman's own niece and nephew came after. Marrah was markedly behind, not even coming the full way to meet them before her young legs seemed to give out. Sympathy passed over her aunt's features, but before she could go to the child the call was answered.

Nyash appeared, with Oksana not far behind. The former was surprised and posed a query while the latter was concerned with the ruinous snow slide. Regular occurrence? That wasn't good. She eyed the children, making a mental note to lay down the ground rule of 'no one goes near the valley's sides' once they were settled. She wasn't losing any of them up here, even to a freak accident.

"Yeah, Al n' I talked about us visitin' more, so the kids c'n get ta know their cousins," she answered him with nonchalance.

"You guys know a way around this mess? After we get a moment ta rest, of course," as she spoke of a break, Woya took the opportunity to turn and go to Marrah's side, giving her a reassuring nudge to her scruff. She wasn't interested in overexerting the young girl.

JUMPED SO HIGH I TOUCHED THE CLOUDS

Enera was exhausted and her feet hurt. She'd been so excited to come on this trip, but she didn't imagine the climb would be this hard. Unsurprisingly, her complaining was met by her mother's scolding and Enera scrunched her nose at her. She knew complaining wouldn't make it easier, but it did help her feel better about her suffering. Why did mama always have to shush her?

A black wolf appeared at the top of the ridge and loped down to meet them, followed by another dark figure. It seemed he knew Woya, as he greeted her and expressed surprise to see them. He introduced himself as Nash. Enera peered up at him. "I'm Enera," she said, "An' this is Marrah and Caelyn, my best friends, and this is my mama." She didn't bother introducing Woya - she didn't feel there was a need. "What is a regular occurrence?" she asked the dark woman that had come with Nash. The snow? Them coming to visit?

The pass was, once again, a tumbled mass of snow and debris brought down the mountainside. At least all this snow meant they would have plenty of water to attract prey and grow foliage this summer. It was the only good thing about snow, in Nash's humble opinion. Clearly the pups shared this thought - at least at the moment, as they complained about the difficulty. He offered them a sympathetic smile. "Getting down is easier; gravity helps," he joked. "You're almost to the top; this avalanche just makes things a little more difficult."

The pale young lady returned his introduction with her own, naming off the entirety of the group except Woya, to which the guardian had to suppress a small smile. Children.

Oksana was right behind him, and at Woya's question he glanced at the crow. "I haven't looked around this one yet; have you?" He would of course be happy to help carve an easier path for their guests, as they'd been traveling and he was relatively fresh.
