AW! Little @Caspian is all alone in the den, without any protection as his mother has perished from dehydration. Staff will not be posting after this, it is up to whoever finds the cub to decide his fate.
Late morning, broken clouds, 60F/16C
IMPORTANT EDIT: Chan has entered the thread at approximately 8:30EST on June 15th. If no one else replies by 8:30pm EST June 16th he will successsfully have custody of the baby. Until then the thread is still open for new participants should your character want to protest.

Day turned into night, and night turned into day, over and over again until it became clear that the mother would not be returning to the den. Her scent was growing stale and the child within their rocky refuge was growing hungry and lonely, they would need assistance, and they would need it quickly if they were to survive. Broken clouds rolled across the sun as the day remained cool, despite the sun approaching its highest position.

From within the stone den a sad and desperate mewing could be heard, growing louder and more demanding as hours passed. Hopefully some kind soul would come soon and take pity on the boy, it is the only way he will survive.

Chan Eastfall
Chan was a withered shadow of himself. While the grief had sunk deep into his bones by now, he still could not make sense of the violence that had been inflicted upon @Flair and stolen their children from them. It robbed him of confidence, faith and will. The only one who understood was his fire-coated friend herself, and so he spent a majority of his time with her.

Then it would build, and squirm under his skin, and he would need to get away. He hadn't traversed this part of the mountain yet, it's terrain novel yet eerily similar. It reminded him of home, of the nieces and nephews he'd yet to meet, of everything that had once been a treasured part of his life and now brought only pain. Chan wasn't sure if he would ever be able to see his family again, because this was not something he was confident he could ever talk about.

Walking along the unseasonably dry mountain earth, Chan was lost in thought when the cry of a small child broke through. At first, he thought the sound was just in his thoughts, his stupid brain haunting him. When he realized it was real, his heart stuttered and jumped. This was not where any pup belonged, clearly isolated in a dangerous terrain. Where was it's mother?

He searched frantically, each and every nook, until he caught the young boy's sent and located him.

"Hey hey hey," he spoke in a hushed whisper as he crawled into the mouth of the den. The child was alone, and the scent of his parent was stale. Chan's heart sunk as he curled around the babe, pulling it close.

"It's okay. It's okay."
