Beelzebub
It was a droll, this humor that likely he would be the only one to chuckle at as he padded along the territory border in a prancing bound which light, elegant footing had offered him in this rather neutral build. He had but to pace, but to inspect and wait for the opportune moment...

It had taken him a while to come to this location, trailing along south from the Black Berry Fields which he had woken to in rebirth. His first day within this world had been rather amusing, if anything and yet still he spent the better part of his time understanding his body and the location for which he had 'landed'. Already, with instinct playing on his mind, he was being to understand what it was like to be a wolf, even if he knew little of pack life as of yet or how to best interact with his 'kind'. He would learn, quickly, as he had always throughout the times. For this is what he held most, time.

Soon, the late, cloudy afternoon turned to dusk and yet still warmth hung in the air, his movements throughout the Grove bringing a new found power within him as though coming up from the very earth of this part of the land. It pulled at him, tugged at his interest and soon he was at the river which cut through this place, drinking from the cool waters and taking a moment to sniff the air for a kill. Though perhaps days old, likely hidden within a cache of some sort, Beelzebub had yet to hunt and grew weary with hunger by a persistent, growling stomach.

The demon was smart enough to keep down wind and he was quick once he entered the territory after a quick scan and a deep scenting for nearby wolves. He dashed forth, using whatever better bit of stamina he had to keep him moving straight into unknown pack territory. He did not care. He only meant to find this meal and take it as he would take anything he wanted in this life or the next.

It had been a peaceful day so far, nothing and no one had bothered her and she had been going through the territory, searching for anything that would be edible for their alpha. The change in the air was one that Jessie was quite use to. Now that Corinna was expecting, the gray woman was going to do everything in her power to make sure that the River lady was properly fed. Even if this meant she was going to be the alpha’s punching bag until she delivered. Her hunting had been quite successful throughout the day, though she had lost a few rabbits and almost missed a bird. She had expected the rest of her day to be uneventful and perhaps even relaxing after she did a walk by of the borders. This was, until she saw a blur of an unfamiliar figure.

Seeing as if she did not know who this was and she could not get a scent on him, she let out a furious bark, her salt-and-pepper colored paws blurring against the ground as she ran in pursuit of the trespasser. She pushed her legs as much as she can and attempted catching up. Growling angrily to herself, she veered off track, briefly, to try and cut the loner up ahead of time. What other reason would a loner try into pack territory but for their caches? Other than just to piss them off, which would have been a complete waste of their time. Baring her fangs she ran for their caches, having the advantage knowing the exact spot in which the River wolves kept their storage. Pleased that she had gotten there, she waited, her body tense and stance ready, just in case her prediction happened to be right.

He had been found. Quickly, surprisingly, despite the fact that he had done everything in his power as this mortal wolf to try to avoid an encounter this falling day. Perhaps it had been just ill fate or the fact that this pack was well off, filled with many members who were very dedicated and very active in the work for their pack. Though this would not discourage the demon - not yet. They were work hardy for their pack and he was work hardy for a meal and in the aftermath of it, serving his master in what little way he could by bringing some disruption to the part of this world which he had been thrown within.

He kept coming, moving in swift and low with his tail out level and his ears back. His head aligned with his spine, trailing on until he slowed his approach to the larger woman, blocking his path to the exact location he intended to work towards. His gaze, a paled grey, silver made to shine in what little lighting remained, narrowed upon the woman, a crooked smirk soon to be famous, pasted on his expression. "This body yearns for food. I want it, I need it....Move." It was the most he had spoken to any other living creature since he had been born into this mortal coil. Though he had been practicing all the while on his own, the voice which was light and musical, pleasurable to the ear if not for the ill words which seeped from said lips. Perhaps without even an attempt upon her, she would see that she was outmatched and yield. He doubted it and hoped she would not.

When i wrote this, I thought of a scene in the movie The Incredibles

It did not take long before the man had arrived, indeed not a part of the Swift River family. Her lips pulled back and eyes blazed in fury at the stupidity of this wolf. Of all places he could have gone for food, he chose a place that had wolves within the territory. Disgusted with this wolf, she slightly froze when he spoke to her, remembering how the River family had gone out to fight war against the diseased. She had no experience of the scent and hoped to the Heavens that this wolf was not one of the infected. The signs that had been mentioned were of no means obvious on this wolf. Glaring at the man in front of her, she let a growl pass by her lips, her words quick a demanding, "I suggest that you leave now or I will engage."

Lowering her tail in a defensive position to protect her belly and lowering her head slightly, she watched the movements of the male, ready to fight with him if it became necessary. To be honest, she should have jumped on him right then, but she found it easier if she protected her food first, just in case he managed to be slightly faster than her, which would prove to be interesting considering she was a pack wolf and much smaller than he was. All she wanted was to be able to keep the male from getting the food that Corinna would need in the passing weeks. The change of her scent in the air was familiar enough now and Jess knew that she would need all the meat she could get. A loner trying to steal away their catches was not something the pack wanted or needed. It was about time for this male to leave.

Lol! My last one reminded me of Thor: "This body needs sustenance". Also a quick note, though she is listed as 'small' in catigory, as far as pounds goes, she is well over 20 lbs larger then he. I guess its her specific breed.

It didn't work.

He holds back the scoff from this though takes pleasure in yet another challenge laid out before him. He would do what he could to insure life was fill of these challenges, these twists and turns as he scaled the very edges of life as he pushed into the lives of others in much unwanted display.

Her threat was given and his retaliation to it made: He flattens, his ears folding back and his tail turning upward to press against his belly. His head remains leveled with his spine, inching back to help protect the sides of his throat by creating extra rolls of fur and fat around it. More so, a pathetic whine escapes his lips, as though desperate and wild for hunger that he may do anything for it. It was all a display, to make himself seem weak, tired and horribly yearning for survival. The beast would not attack yet. Let the woman to hand out the first blow, drawn first blood and shed herself another layer of pure innocence.

He jumps then, moving forward and out to the left in a quick step, a feint to send her in the opposite direction which he intended. After the quick maneuver he leaps out to the right with true purpose, making a bee line for the cache smelling thickly of days old food which had sent him trailing this borderline to begin with. His intentions were to run in quick, snag something, anything he could, and with it continue his run back from which he came and out of Swift River territory.

Ice Aesir
you do not know who is your friend
or who is your enemy
until the ICE breaks.
Not on my watch.

Ice was not fast, but he was strong and relentless. Jessie's bark had alerted him to something being wrong, and even if the winds didn't tell him what, the echoing call was etched in his mind. Driven by a sudden worry, for Corinna and their unborn progeny, for the pack, for everyone, he flung himself on all four in a flurry of leaves and legs, a blur of large white heading for the source of the call. Paws flexed on instinct to account for the dips of soft moss, rising off the ground just enough to clear roots and rocks, his body swerving easily between the trees. And it dawned on him, as he caught the traces of Jessie's scent, that they were heading for the caches. Ice's path altered and he shot off towards the nearest ones, knowing that both Jessie and her foe were likely to beat him to it - he was too large to compete in speed, but that made him all the more dangerous when he laid his large paws on someone's spindly frame and crushed their light bones between his teeth.

His breathing came in even, rhythmic blasts, nothing wasted on growls and snarls, and suddenly he saw them: small Jessie, her body even smaller with the protective stance, and the dark-furred stranger eying her. And in that moment, the first hint of a growl tumbled out from his bared teeth, his tail flying up in a flag of dominance as he cared nothing for defense. He'd batter this insolent shit into the ground and make him think at least ten times before crossing their pack borders again.

With all the force of an angry, running wolf Ice barreled onto the scene just as the stranger was making his fleet-footed move. Furious, and intending to waste no time on asking who the hell this bastard thought he was, Ice hoped that Beelzebub would be too distracted by his own games to get away cleanly; Ice aimed for he hoped he'd be in a few moments, and opened his jaws wide, not quite caring what the result would be. He wanted to smash the idiot over, trample him, bite him, do anything to him, as long as it was painful.

It was as if she could feel her pulse in her head, thundering hard against her as she stared at the loner in front of her. To her demands, she was met with silence and a noncompliant man in front of her. Sharpening her own gaze and shooting a hate filled glare in his direction, she pulled her lips back more, revealing more of her formally hidden canines. She waited for him, knowing that it would do her no good to go towards him, not knowing of his capabilities. Only when he struck towards her did she also leap, his tactics throwing her off when he changed direction. Trying to turn and grunting heavily in the process, a sharp growl arose from within her. He was too damn fast for her! Searching for the bastard that had slipped past her, a white blur in her peripheral vision set part of her mind at ease. Ice would help her with this man that had slipped past their borders. No one could test her friend’s big white ass.

Hoping to get in her own distraction so Ice could successfully get to the loner, she jumped forward, her paws skimming across the ground and hoping that while the loner would be getting his pick of food, that he would slow down slightly in their pursuit. Pushing her legs, she desperately tried to gain on him, only wanting to wrap her jaws somewhere around him; perhaps his leg would be enough for her. It would certainly slow him down if she could catch up to him. And if she would end up catching up to him, the gray female would lunge towards his hind leg, her jaws open and ready to try and cause some serious damage.

He was quick yes, but she was not by far behind him. Though he had successfully feinted in order to maneuver past her and on to the caches, bee-lining in that direction, he was soon to learn that back up had arrived in the woman's favor, lest she had lost out and disappointed her pack mates. Ice's barreling attack had been waited and planned and had it not, success would have been less likely for the beefy wolf. His intention of cutting Beelzebub off on his path to success was met with a yip and a jump out to the left, flying up in the air in much a manner of a scared cat. He dodges but not without loosing his footing and tripping, tumbling until he is able to lift once more off the ground with all fours. By now jaws descend upon him, one snap from Ice snagging at his right flank and the other at the back of his left ankle. Each hit, each torn at fur and skin and caused him to bleed in mortal manner he did not particularly enjoy, but laughed at in relevance to this pain being far less then the terrors he had endured in life times.

The demon skitters outward and away from them and thus, off of the track towards their food supply he had originally intended. There was no way he would get to the food now and to try would be needlessly injuring the form he had only just recently been placed within. He had no intention of destroying this vessel just yet and so instinctively lowered his head and tail before the pair as he yet still continued backing away, readying himself to jump out of harm's way should the need arise. "You'd all take a life for your own greed?" His words grumbled in a hissed spat. "You are all truly damned." His words and his blood having split, the man turns quick now with intention to yet again flee from them yet this time, without their food and yet still off their territory.

Ice Aesir
you do not know who is your friend

until the ICE breaks.

There is no rest for the wicked.

The interloper looked like he had not expected a heavy, white wolf to come barreling his way; and Ice, set ablaze by a silver fury, had perhaps not expected there to be no body to break his speed. Bulky as he was he seldom ran at full speed, but here he was, the black devil rolling sideways and he himself about to run into the open arms of hell. Each step he took was less forceful than the previous, until eventually he dug into the ground and trembled to a halt, jaws snapping shut on the bastard's retreating flank. That he was skittering sideways and back, head and tail tucked, did little to appease Ice; they'd had enough problems to last them a lifetime, and unfortunately, his bitter frustration spilled over whenever anyone did something stupid, regardless of their relation to Swift River's other tormentors. He thirsted for some kind of blood payment, and his paws ached from his sprint and the rough stop; growling like an engine he bared all his fangs and advanced upon the backing wolf.

Useless words washed over his ears, like a balm meant to soothe perhaps but only stinging him further. He cared little for excuses, reasons or questions; was not all the River wolves did justified when a trespasser willingly walked onto their territory, knowing, deep in their feral cores, what it might entail for them? With a strangled bark Ice leaped for the smaller wolf, but he bolted at the same time, and Ice's teeth snapped shut on nothing but the air. Releasing a furious sound halfway between a scream and a howl Ice tore after him, his large paws beating the ground as his sturdy legs bent and extended time again, but he knew it was a symbolic chase now, a hopeless hunt; there was no way Ice would be able to catch up with the smaller devil, but he'd see him out all the same.

Hope this is alright. PM me if I need to change anything

So much happened in such a short time; the young Swiftpaw had trouble keeping up with all of it. She knew that the loner had not been too successful thanks to Ice coming in to save the day. The white snowball had probably saved the pack from getting their prey stolen and Jessie from being completely embarrassed. Snarling from the loner caused her to stare in confusion. Did this man honestly think they would let him into their territory for prey? The prey that they had all worked their butts off for every day that they hunted…Jessie would not let it be stolen and neither would Ice. If the loner wanted something to eat, he would have to find something for himself…outside of Swift River territory.

After his short accusation, he took off but Ice and Jessie would follow in pursuit. The man was fast…maybe even faster than her, and definitely faster than Ice, but none the less, Jessie was faster than Ice and was right on the nameless man’s trail. She snarled furiously at the loner as the two River wolves chased after him. Eventually, the loner would be chased out and when that happened, it took Jessie awhile to slow down, her breath coming in gasps as she finally slowed her momentum down enough so that she came to a stop. Taking deep breaths, she then turned looping back towards Ice, hoping that her snowball would have enough sense to let the fool go. He would be a waste of their time and he was gone now. The pair had better things to do than chase after a male who had not taken anything from them and had already been chased out of their territory. To ensure this, Jessie first had to find the large man though, so she called out in a strong voice, "Ice!!!"
