Well this wasn't what he expected when he had started following the river. It had snaked and curved all over the place, even forked at one point, but the lone wolf was diligent. The river let out in to a fen of ugly reeds and brown water — and Kuro, his eyes keen upon the water's surface in such a rapt manner — found his paws sinking in to the soggy earth within moments. His weight was no help here. As soon as the moist soil touched his toes, he let out a boyish yelp of surprise and tried to recoil; however, his heavy stomping and flailing only served to kick up more mud, until his entire lower half was streaked with green pond scum and brown mud. A sneer curled across his face when he took stock of his condition — and the prince was not pleased. Well there goes my good mood, The boy slurred, surly and disgusted by his current condition. God damn it, this'll take forever to clean, he groaned aloud and slogged through the muck, attempting to fjord the marsh with an uncharacteristic sag to his posture. There would be no point in trying to get clean now, not when there was so much nasty swamp around him. Best to do that once he found solid ground — if there was any kind of solidity to any part of this area, which he doubted. A low murmuring whine, childish and hardly fitting for the boy's age and size, pierced the air and kept him company through a few more meters.

Narimé Lagina
Narime was visiting the marsh again. Her long willowy legs kept almost all of her body out of the muck. At least until she hit somewhat deeper areas in the marsh, but the she wolf knew this land. She knew what area's to avoid that would make her sink and get thoroughly soaked. This was a territory the woman had hunted in for years. Especially now that her territory lay just south of her position hidden in the sparse bit of willow forest that barely divided hush meadow and whisper marsh.

As the mud sucked at the traveling she wolf's paws, Nari looked out for prey of any kind. Be it fish, waterbird, beaver, or a deer stuck in the mud, Nari was ready to kill it and fill a cache or two. She knew that summer was ending, and if another really bad winter struck them again the silver queen would make sure that the pack had enough food to get through the cold season.

However as she wandered her eyes caught sight of movement to the northwest of her position. The sounds of angry yelps caught her ears as Nari sighed in defeat. If someone's making this much noise then there will be no prey around for miles. She huffed quietly before veering towards the noises. She would help this inexperienced youngster before continuing on her own way.

Stepping lightly on her paws despite the muck all around her Nari made her way towards the young male. She could see just by looking at him that he had inadvertently gone right through some of the mid-level areas of the marsh. She was keeping to the highest pieces of land that dotted this territory. However as she looked on in amusement Nari noticed that the stranger was headed for a deep area. It didn't look deep, but she had fallen through that very place before thinking that it was a dry spot. The patch of neck deep water he was headed towards had a bunch of strange water plants growing on it which made the illusion of it being higher up and dryer than it really was. She was tempted to let him fall into it, but her good nature won out.

"You might not want to head that direction!"

She called out unable to go any further without slipping into the belly deep marsh water. She would rather keep her belly warm and dry as it currently was.
