Lachesis "XIX" Stark

“Yes, ri-ver,” Lachesis repeated with a slow wag of his tail, his peridots focused on the tawny bundle of fur. The boy seemed content in remaining at the river’s edge, but the ghost could see the glint of curiosity in his navy pools. However, as he gave the boy instruction, Mathéo nodded solemnly, eager to please his Uncle Cloud. He certainly was much easier to handle than his rambunctious sister, who would not have obeyed the Stark so easily. No, little Risaela would have lunged at the water, too enthralled by it to listen to her uncle’s warnings.

Giving the boy a small nod Lachesis approached the river’s edge, allowing the tumbling water to cascade over his forepaws. A mischievous grin fell onto his paw male as he glanced over at the little Tainn. “I promised you a rainbow,” he started, his tail picking up pace once more, “you ready to see one?” The ghost did not want to disappoint the boy, for establishing a good relationship with Mathéo was important to him. As the only boy born this year (aside from his son, who had been brought into the world as a stillborn) the tawny Tainn was going to need to stick close to the older male’s of Hearthwood, otherwise he was going to be pummelled by the excess of estrogen. The girls outnumbered him and would not hesitate to gang up on him.

Without waiting for a response Lachesis raised a paw and swatted at the water, sending a wave toward the ray of sunlight that cut through the trees. A faint whirl of colours appeared—he needed more water. “Did you see it?” He asked, a brow quirked as he glanced over at Mathéo out of the corner of his eye.

Mathéo Tainn
“Whoa.”

Mathéo’s eyes were as big as saucers as he stared onwards, utterly amazed that the adult had produced the sky’s colors so easily.  All he did was swat his paw, and there they were!  Just like that!  Sure, it might not have lasted as long as the pair of rainbows stretching across the sky, but frankly, those didn’t have much of a lifespan, either.

His stumpy tail wagged behind him fiercely, getting back to his feet as he pranced forward.  Lala was so cool.  Lavender and Lilliana were awfully lucky to have him as a dad.  If he ever got to pick a father, Lachesis would definitely by high up on the list as a first choice.  But for the moment, the thought didn’t really cross his mind, instead standing up on his hind legs to lick at the adult’s chin happily, utterly delighted by the display.  “Whoa,” he said again, as if to emphasize his point, his appreciate for the sheer amount of effort the white wolf must have gone through to make him a little rainbow like that.  It might not have been much to the alpha, but in the child’s eyes, it was a wonder.  Just like the alpha himself.
