Rogue Outcrop It's not meant to be

The weather was warming as her belly grew, both contributed to her discomfort. She very much detested that spur of the moment interaction with the young Valle. How easy it must have been for him, to just have a good time and not have to deal with any of the consequences. The young ginger woman could not figure out which was worse...this or that irritating heat. The constant hunger, the pressure in her belly, the movement of the pup/pups that caused her to yelp in surprise the first time it happened.

Cynder has grown accustom to the movement, it no longer surprising her. There was a nagging deep within her core that pushed her to seek out a small dark place. Her instincts pushing her to find a den in preparation for birth. The pale tawny woman wandered deeper into the mountain towards one of many caves that laid within. No need to make one herself when nature and the gods have provided many to choose from.

Her wandering lead her to the large outcrop that brought a small smile to her reddish cream maw. The memory of racing Sov up it making her tail swish to and fro. Stormy blue grey eyes glanced over her shoulder at the size of her belly. It was much larger now then it had been then. No way to make it to the top in this condition. A huff of irritation blew from her lips. This pregnancy was more a hinderance than anything else. A raindrop plopping on her nose pulled her from her irritation. One, then two then four until water fell all around her in a light shower.

It was oddly calming. Letting the cool light water soak her coat as she sat with her eyes closed the expecting mother simply enjoyed. She didn't know how long she sat there, but it was long enough that she was soaked all the way through. The drizzle faded away leaving a partly cloudy sky behind. Giving her pelt a good shake Cyn wasn't able to rid herself of all the water due to her size but didn't care enough to try again. She continued her hunt for a den.

She struggled climbing up and around boulders, her usual nimbleness gone. Her need for a den and lack to do the work herself pushed her to continue. Her stormy gaze spotted an opening that was large enough for her to fit but not large enough that she'd be in the open and exposed to the outside world. It was just high enough to require a short climb, another pro for her. On unsteady still wet paws she began to climb.

She was almost up to the entrance when her back paw slipped our from beneath her. Cynder landed square on her belly with a loud yelp that echoed across the rocks. A sharp pain laced her abdomen that sucked the air from her lungs. She needed to get inside immediately. She pulled herself up the rest of the way and slipped into the cave. The cool air enveloped her damp fur as she collapsed to the ground with a pained whine. She clamped her eyes shut as another sharp shooting pain lashed out. Something was not right...

Felyx wasn't certain what to think of the potential pups that might come from Cynder's tryst with whoever she'd chosen, and he was grateful that in all that time, his own belly had remained flat and unbothered. What he'd done with @Thoval was enjoyable for sure, and he couldn't help but want for more from him, but pups?

No thanks. Not right now.

Still, possessiveness surged over Cynder as her body changed. Felyx was less prone to wandering as she grew, strangely protective over his twin. It was not often that she was the one in need of protection, but it was part of his job to keep her safe just as it was hers to keep him.

So he stayed near, lingering where he could hear her, providing food and quiet (or not so quiet) protection.

Of course, Felyx was close enough to hear her yelp. Not close enough to see the impact with the ground, but enough to arrive not long after. He wasted no time in entering the den, crouching nearby, stormy eyes looking her over with fiery intensity.

"What happened?" he asked, ears angling forward. "Did someone hurt you?"

The air chilled her to the bone with her damp fur, or maybe it was from pain that laced through her. Either way now was not a good moment for the ginger girl. This pain was unlike anything she’d experience before, and that was saying a lot. Her twin’s scent filled the space but she was too preoccupied with the contraction to snap for him to get out. His presence had always been comforting, until now. Her instincts screamed for her to expel him from the new found den but the contraction left her panting heavily unable to form the words.

He had been hovering for lack of better words the recent weeks. Really since @Thoval’s announcement of what her little rendezvous with the Valle boy had resulted in. The shock had been palpable, this was not what she had envisioned for herself. Clearly the gods had other plans. Lyx’s overprotectiveness was only tolerated because of his bringing of food. She had less and less energy to find it herself so to have it appear was great. She thought once to how this must have been for their mother…alone to raise them… Still she should’ve done better. Clearly Cynder was with having someone to bring her meals.

The russet twin’s words sounded both far away and much too close at the same time. Her inky lips pulled back in a silent snarl. ”Out.” she ground out as another contraction hit her. She was unable to hold back the pained whimper that tore its way from her throat. She refused to let anyone see her at her most vulnerable, not even her twin.
