Garmir Ghostpaw
OOC: This is prelude for the Anaeia plotline that explains why Garmir suddenly leaves CAD territory without saying anything. READ ONLY.

Three weeks had passed since Charred Ash Draw sheltered the husk that had been Garmir, effectively saving his life and giving him taste of what could be ahead of him if he could just break his former bonds and abandon his task. The earthen male felt grateful for his new leaders, especially Treyah whom seemed to have infinite capacity for good and even Kerberos whom was more reserved towards the newcomer but just and right. Garmir wished nothing less than just be able to settle down and forget his past, loose his shackles and start a new life, with new identity and for once - dreams and goals that were his own making. He dreamed being part of this pack, growing old and happy in it - but if anything was true, it was that Garmir's wishes never came true. His purpose, his destiny did not ask for what he wanted.

He had made oath, written in blood and such bonds were not made to be broken. His life was not his own, but belonged to the greater pack and the greater pack had given him task - one he must fullfill, or die trying. Garmir joining Charred Ash Draw, begging to be saved had been nothing but selfish act of cowardiness and it did not free him from his burden - only postponed it. He had decided that if he were to continue with his task, he would do so come spring, meanwhile trying repay his hosts for saving his life.

He had chosen to begin guarding the borders, not by marking them but simply checking whom was coming in and out, keeping track of both wolves and prey that might cross in or out, doing circle least once a day. He did so by his own devices, simply wanting something to do instead of being idle. Garmir was not used to just laying down and waiting. He always had a task or mission.

The border had nothing out of ordinary, nothing but a hare dipping briefly in and then out like a tease asking for wolf to come and chase it. Not now. Garmir was walking amongst burnt tree husks that were mostly covered in blanket of snow, few bushes growing inbetween them here and there. He made it down a slope and walked forward, soon reaching the end of the border. Something caught his eye, something so subtle that untrained eye would completely miss it, but there it was in plain sight for everyone to see.

A sign, from Anaeia.

Garmir's world stopped right there, cold tidal wave firing through his nerves, causing his hackles to rise and his eyes to widen. He forgot to breath and his heart begin to pound on his chest, so loud he could hear it in his own ears. The sign was but a branch, broken from right spot, cut lightly from certain angle with with a faintest set of bite marks on it, first two but an centimeter from one another and one final three centimeters from the first two. It did not seem like much, but to Garmir, there was whole message to read.

"It ends. Meet me. Alone."

Whatever plans or thoughts the earthen male had had earlier were now abandoned. She had chosen to reveal herself and his sole focus would be on doing just that, confronting her. As it was typical for Anaeia, there was barely any trail to follow, a feat quite impressive considering it was winter and everything left paw prints. Upon examining closer, he noticed there was a trail covered lightly in snow but no real scent. Anaeia must have made her approach during snowfall, the sign clearly older than a day from what little scent he could pick from the bite marks. Without even looking back, he begin to track her, he trail so sloppily hidden it had to be purposeful...
