So the water was really, really cold. Volkan's eyes widened in shock as she found a good part of her body submerged. What she also realized a little too late was that barging into the water meant scaring away a majority of the fish. Shivers shaking her lanky frame, the younger female glanced back at Vlarindara, forcing a smile. "It's fine!" She said, shaking her head wildly to rid it of water, sending droplets in all directions. "It's not that cold," she added after a moment. (Lie.)
Newly shaken off, the wolf with wet fur poking haphazardly out like spikes from her cheeks resembled, at best, a wet rat. She tried to ignore the cold, telling herself it felt exhilarating, and resolved herself to scoping out fish. How hard could it be? "I've never done this before, but it can't be that hard. Just... find one and catch it, right?" It seemed pretty straightforward. It didn't take long for a good-sized fish to swim right under her nose, and when it did, Volkan leapt up and came back down with open jaws, hoping either to snap up the fish or stun it with her weight or the impact on the water. Unfortunately, neither happened; it just swam away. Undeterred, the yearling pounced on it again, this time catching its tail under her paw. It wriggled, but, holding her breath and taking the plunge, she retrieved it in her jaws, flopping helplessly. A wide, satisfied grin crossed her face as she held it in her teeth, trotting out of the water toward the older female. "Shee! Eashy!" And she promptly plopped it down on the bank, watching it flop, leaving it to its intended recipient and glancing back at her with a lighthearted laugh.
