He hadn't been as actively making contact with everyone but he was putting in some effort. Already acquainted with the dark Iyes and the expectant mother Kyna that left two other wolves for him to know better. He figured he might as well finish off meeting all the female's before he moved on to the one other male.

The large male moved easily towards the common den. He figured he might be lucky to catch the cream toned girl after his morning patrol. Ah, what was her name? Flame? Ash? He kept making his way as he awkwardly thought about it. Suddenly he realized what it was. Heigen smiled softly, it would take some time getting names sorted but he could do it. "Ember, you about?" The older second called out in a kind tone. He certainly wasn't a mumbler so if she was around she should easily hear him.

His rear settled onto the ground in a relaxed sitting position. Heigen figured if he kept his position casual than he could get across the message this wasn't about anything serious. In fact, this was likely going to be more relaxed than his patrol with Iyes had been. At least that was what the Colette was hoping for.

She wasn't necessarily trying to avoid talking with the others, there was just so much to do and little of it called for conversation, much less left her breath to spare for it. Ember was certainly a social creature, after all, and thoroughly enjoyed learning about others. First, though, she had to ensure the stability of this new home. Caches, markers, prey trails and water sources. They all had to be dug, strengthened, tracked down and mapped out if the pack wanted to remain healthy and not fall prey to the many forces of nature which consistently worked toward their undoing.

Any approach from another, however, certainly wasn't turned down. When she heard Heigen's voice upon the wind from somewhere behind her left flank, the timber was familiar despite her lack of one-on-one communication with the man. Her equal in rank. Technically, she had been ranked pretty highly once the adults had mostly all taken off in the Pines, but it hadn't been something noticed. Now, it meant something to be beta, and Gen being her rank-mate hopefully would mean quite a deal. They would need to work well together, complimenting the teamwork of the alpha pair.

Straightening her spine, she retreated from the soft bed of pine she had been laying down as a surprise for the pregnant @Kyna, and slunk from the den's depths to meet the man with a broad smile.

"Heya, Heigen. What's up?"

His tail swept the ground beneath him as she seemed to greet him with friendliness. While he hadn't expected anything else other than kind tones, it was still a relief to get the actual confirmation from the source. "Not much, I suppose. Just finished a patrol and figured I should make sure you were doing well. Hope I'm not pulling you away from something too urgent?" She was a packmate and rank mate, after all, he was curious about her well being. "Also figured I owe you a proper conversation so we get to know each other better." The large male admitted with a chuckle.

He wondered if she had a role she wanted to do or if she was in the same metaphorical boat as Iyes. Granted the small ebony girl was still a yearling which in Heigen's mind gave her plenty of time to explore each role and decide. While he wasn't going to suggest everyone snatch a role right away he figured it was still good to know who might be interested in what. Perhaps he could even find something to learn from the younger wolves he now lived amongst. It seemed everyone was content to doing basic tasks, though. Heigen couldn't have been happier with his choice in joining the strawberry blonde on her task of claiming the mountain.
