Roose had a hard time holding down a snort of contempt when the girl hesitated, but he somehow managed to do it. If he didn’t have pack relations to think of, he would just let her go on her way. She was turning out to be quite a bit of effort – mostly by testing his patience, but effort none the less. She was certainly an interesting young lady, that was for sure.
Instead, the advisor nodded to her, tipped back his head, and howled for his leaders. He didn’t expect Piety to come, as she was still expecting her child, but he knew Wraith would come to answer his call. His leader wouldn’t just ignore him, though he might have to wait for his busy leader to finish whatever he was doing. Regardless, he didn’t expect to be sitting here for too much longer.
He looked back to the girl. “They should be here shortly.”
Roose was never much good at making light conversation. Talking in general was something he only ever did when there was something worth saying. Now that they were waiting for the alphas, the older man was happy to sit in silence, unless Rosalind had more questions.
