Griffin Gwain Avalon
Dated around: 1/19 - @Serach @Aponi & other OTB wolves welcome too.

He’d felt confined enough in the western woodlands, but this forest brought the Fields pup’s claustrophobia to a whole new level. At least he was under cover from the snow and wind, much cozier than his trip over the mountain. But it still made him uneasy. He longed for his homeland with the open horizon, where he could actually see where he was going, and didn’t have to worry about what might be lurking just around the next turn. It was certainly no mystery to Gale why his parents had chosen to leave these lands.

But now he was here, looking for their old home in a desperate last-ditch effort. Sniffing along the trunks for scent markers, he found himself aching with hope, not sure if he could handle another rejection. If this too proved a dead end, he had nowhere else to go, nothing to do but return home, emptypawed. He couldn’t bare the thought of getting back to his parents without news, without the smallest new lead to show for his effort; and lift their spirits.

It was with such gloomy thoughts filling his head, that Griffin toddled through the Spectral Woods, almost missing the markers left by a passing wolf, not too long ago. Ears perking with the slightest hint of excitement, he followed the trail, soon coming upon the borders that must belong to Oak Tree Bend. Coming to a halt, he swallowed nervously before giving his tail a decisive wag, and calling for the pack leaders.

Serach Donata
Serach had been resting his head on his paws, eyes closed when the stranger's howl interrupted his dozing. Cracking an eye, he slowly rolled over to his side with a "humph". Waiting only a moment, he rolled himself back to his stomach and then up onto his paws. Shaking himself out, he spared a few more moments to stretch before he set off in the direction the stranger's call had come from. It was a young, youthful voice and it had piqued his curiosity despite his reluctance to interrupt his nap.

Using his nose, he sniffed out the stranger's scent on the wind and followed it to him. Sizing the boy up as he approached, he confirmed visually what the howl had told him - this was a young man, no older than Corsair or Serach's daughters. Wagging his tail easily, he came up to the borders and lifted his head to look at the stranger. His scent was stronger too now, and there was something strikingly familiar about it that was nagging at the edges of Serach's memory. He knew this boy, but he couldn't figure out how. "Hello," he said simply, but not unkindly. "I'm Serach, leader of the Bend."
