There are only two ways to live your life: as though nothing is a miracle, or as though everything is a miracle.
The landscape was changing, it seemed that the world around the young wolf was as well. Daesamar paused and stood on a large rock, the massive mountain he called home laid behind him. Standing on the east side he looked out at the world, the pack’s borders were sound and with the coyotes gone it gave him a chance to clear his head with a walk away from his home. The snow was falling, lightly accumulating against his black and grey pel. It added a white powdery dusting to his dark form. Thankfully wit his thickening pelt the cold wasn’t too much of an issue. Exhaling slowly and watching his breath appear brought back old. Nearly a year ago he had entered this land and now here he stood, bigger, stronger and far more confident then he had been.
He stepped down off of his perch, his pawsteps crunching softly against the snow as he started to move. The ground here was rugged and uneven. The trees starting to droop with the piling snow. As he walked he wondered about things. What would happen to the Tarn? Would @Odin and @Jenessa return home? Would there even be a home for them to return to? If things did go south, then what would @Cheedo do? Daesamar wasn’t too worried about himself. He knew he could try a few different places, a couple of packs came to mind. He wasn’t going to leave his friends though.
That brought up another worry. IT had become a pattern the youth had discovered. Almost every wolf he had met and trusted, walked out of his life. He never mentioned it and hesitant to, he was worried. Would the same happen with his packmates? Surely they could start over somewhere else together. Sighing softly Daesamar gave his head a shake and sharply inhaled the cold air to clear his head. He came out this way to try and get away from these worries for a bit. He heard something and paused.
It was running water, a creek or stream by the sound of it. Licking his lips he started toward it. A cold drink would do wonders for him right now. Finding it a few minutes later Daesamar paused beside it. Looking at his reflection he thought about some of the earliest wolves he had met many months ago. He had met a few of them beside streams like this. Those times had been so much easier. He had only himself to worry about. He had also been alone. He knew he wouldn’t have traded any of his past for a chance to change things. The chances were rare but, he had met a few good wolves and he knew those times would always stay with him.
Lowering himself down, Daesamar drank his fill. He shuddered as the cold water splashed his throat. It felt good and once he finished he settled down beside the water. Closing his eyes and listening to the soft bubble of the water running past as the snow kept falling and dissolving or flowing down with the water before dissolving.
