Jenessa Kay Selwyn
This is a branch off thread from this one, just so the pups don't clutter up adult talk.

oof, so many archers

Jenny yawned. This was supposed to be an important affair, but in her mind important meant boring. Exploring the world was all well and good, but when it simply resulted in standing around to talk then....yeah, this wasn't what she had in mind at all. She yawned again, louder and wider this time, as though waving a white flag to say 'I'M BORED'. This was the only warning the adults would get, she wouldn't tell them again.

Her gaze wandered from familiar faces to the unfamiliar. Friends, foes and meh. Were they expected to scamper around and play? Jenny might have been interested in that months ago, when she was smaller, but these days she only played when she felt like it, if there was nothing better to do.

Sticking by her uncle and aunt's sides, she huffily tapped her paw against the snow. It used to be a novel concept to her, but it was no old news, she'd seen it, sniffed it and eaten it. Boooring.

Avella Archer
She'd heard her father's call and then her mother's instruction for her and Scully to follow. Knowing better than to disobey Avella did as she was told and ran to catch up to her mother. She checked once to make sure her brother was coming along too. She didn't know what all of this was about but she was curious to find out.

The journey to where they would catch up with her dad wasn't a long one and soon his pale figure came into view. She was happy to see him up and about and back in his rank where he belonged. Something else caught the masked pups attention. The other adults and pups, she'd never seen so many in one place before.

It had not escaped her that she knew one of the pups either. “We meet again,” she said as she approached the dark pup she'd encountered after Sven had been hurt.

Ragnar Stormborn

Ragnar had originally come out this way along his mother's side in order to help carry herbs back to the infirmary, though the call of family turned the tables and brought him to this gathering out in the northern fields. Having politely introduced himself to his aunt which he had heard about, living out further west in a place called The Scowle, he turned his direction to the six children that had come along with her - family. Ragnar had always been told his family was a large one, powerful and found throughout all parts of the Lore. He had learned this more when he met Elias, a Second father to him and now all these pups, cousins from a pack he had yet seen.

Though he stood back at Avella's flank, he said nothing yet, but pale icy eyes looked on curiously, taking in all their scents, their appearances and waited to assess their persona. One day Ragnar would get to know the places which they came from, which Elias and his half sister lived and maybe even, the origin of their blood - Torbine. The explorer heart on him built, his need to see beyond growing, but for now he kept back and observed this lot here now.

Scully Archer

The heck was all this? Scully wondered as he broke the horizon line with his mother and sister and witnessed all who were gathered, a group of adults and children, none of whom were familiar. Already the mottled boy had begun to adopt persistently dominant posture, but the air of self-appointed preeminence only heightened as he drew closer. Just because they were guests didn't mean he wasn't still top pup around here.

Ragnar was hanging back, and Scully clipped the other boy's shoulder with his own, silver eyes lingering on his features as he passed; a silent invitation for him to come and check out the new kids with him. Then his gaze turned to the one Avella spoke to; again? Well who the heck was this?

Sizing the others each up with a wriggling nose and focused eyes, he stepped up to his sister's side and waited for some kind of response from the yellow-eyed girl.

Freyja Mizuno-Archer

Freyja was not one to miss out on the action. Or to ignore the summons of her mother. Curiously but dutifully, she followed the adults. Coming out all this way wasn't exactly new to her. As of late, she had steadily been expanding the radius in which she traveled. She was surprised to see so many other adults around, all of whom she didn't know. At least on a personal level. Like Ragnar, she had absorbed the extensive knowledge and information of her lineage. Which was...vast, to say the least. Seeing so many adults and other pups her own age, Freyja made a mental note to herself. Get to know them one on one, in the future.

One face here amongst her age mates, did stand out. Vareth. The spunky boy from the Scowle who she had roamed around the Lore a little bit. She liked to think that their friendship would continue to strengthen. While the adults chatted, she hung by Ragnar's side. But not for long. When Avella spoke up, addressing a dark, yellow eyed female, she joined her second brother and sister. Watching intently with pale blue eyes, her demeanor calm but ever sharp.

Vaeda Archer

Vaeda was a conflicted wolf. That pretty much summarized her existence, torn between trying to prove herself as capable or better than her brother and the others and the impending sureness of failure. If she tried and she didn’t do it right then that was worse than not trying at all. So she usually found herself near the back of the group, watching and observing with a sickening mixture of frustration and anxiety in her belly. Either that or she would act out rashly, trying to prove herself before faltering and failing, not out of lack of ability or skill, just over analyzing and lack of confidence.

So when the adults had marched them down here Vaeda had hung near the back of the tribe and moodily sulked the whole way. Then they had set on to talking and not much had changed in the ginger child. One of them said that she had already met Jenny, or at least that seemed to be who she was talking to and Vaeda looked between the pair suspiciously. When would they have met? What business did they have knowing each other?

Even worse was the next thought, was she supposed to know them? She certainly hoped not but the thought stuck in her brain like a pesky thorn. She probably was supposed to know who these other pups were, but she had no idea. Trying her best to look aloof Vaeda plopped her rump onto the ground and glanced around as if she had no stake in this meeting. If she looked like she didn’t care then maybe she wouldn’t care, and that was better than the squirmy feeling in her belly right now.
