She wasn’t entirely sure what she’d had. The sickness hadn’t been the worst Colette had ever experienced, but a tiny part of her also felt like it had taken her longer to recover from it than was typical - perhaps because she was getting older? Whatever it was, she didn’t like it.
Didn’t like not being able to help out and provide. Didn't like that tragedy had struck Chan again, then Finley and Jethro, and she hadn't been able to do anything. And especially did not like that it had taken her longer than it should’ve to notice Caspian was missing, and even longer still to actually have the time and energy to get out and do something about it.
Though she’d ventured pretty far from the falls, back toward the lake, an area she knew the kid had liked, there was little to be found. That concerned her, along with some subtle signs that Ryder also appeared to be growing more distant as of lately.
Colette wasn’t sure why. She had guesses, but they were simply that. She couldn’t know for sure what was wrong unless she asked the two kids. And in order to do that for Caspian, he needed to come back, first.
Pausing along the lakeshore, the ghost tipped her head back and issued a short call for him. A call that echoed across the lands and through the surrounding forest. She felt discouraged and unsure, but chose to hope.
