It all happened so fast. One moment she was sitting next to a tree and the next she was airborne with the sharp talons of an eagle piercing her sides. She would never forget that horrifying, stomach-dropping sensation of the ground dropping away. She didn't even have time to cry out. She was simply there and then gone, the trees passing under her with shocking speed. Ally's mind finally caught up with what was happening and she began to struggle, paws churning uselessly in the air as she twisted to snap at the eagle's legs. It's grip tightened and she yelped at the pain of it but she didn't cease her wriggling. If she could just turn a little more she could get her teeth into it and then it would let her go, and she could get back to her dad...
The eagle began to descend, wing beats slow and laboring. The ground approached just as fast as it had disappeared and the pair of them crashed, the weight of the bird crushing down on her. They scuffled on the ground, the eagle trying to lift her again, but this time Ally wasn't going so easily. It finally gave up and left her panting and bloody in the dirt, and completely lost.
