Rain clouds forming, distant storm — Current Temperature: 66° F/19° C
@Sibyl :3

A distant storm rumbled overhead, to which Ava found herself giving a silent thanks. Thunder and lightning would keep her four well within the walls of the den and would mean an easy day of play for her and whoever came to visit, and the rain would cool down their neck of the woods. The thick canopy's shadows and the spray of the rapids certainly helped, but every once in a while the black-furred she-wolf felt as though the heat became trapped underneath the blankets of leaves above. In those instances, even her sleek summer coat could not spare her and she found herself wondering how nice it would be if she could don a coat of ivories in the summer.

Primed for the tour Ava set off, her dark limbs pushing her with decent speed as she began the path laid by their borders. Everywhere there was a weakness she stopped to lift her leg proudly, having grown well into the role of a Queen. Unlike Grizzly Hollow this was not borrowed territory - what hideaway they'd stolen in Secret Falls belonged to them most definitely. A grin grew on her maw at the thought. She was finding the responsibility liberating, much like her Poisoned days, only this time she never had to second guess her opinion for it was her charge that made the way.

Again the sky shook; she could see it greying through the gaps in the canopy. Unpertubed the coal-cloaked woman continued, pausing to sniff the bark among the trees and check that there was no regrowth of cowsbane on the riverbanks. If a little rain began to fall while she was out on patrol, so be it. Ava had far too much good in life to be bothered by getting wet.

Sibyl Balik
Sibyl glanced apprehensively at the growling, grumbling clouds. As much as she logically knew the sky wouldn't descend to hurt her, she couldn't entirely rule out that it wouldn't. Each rumble of thunder brought to mind lions and bears, and with each flash of light she couldn't help but see the shape of beasts outlined in the shadows. Knowing these things were all illusions didn't help much, and only made her more disappointed in herself. More than anything she wished for the presence of someone, anyone to assuage these fears. She was partially searching for Destin, the only wolf she had here close enough to call a friend with Aniu missing. However the man was in none of the places she looked and she had to wonder if the storm had him holed up somewhere as well.

Webbed paws squelching through the muddied ground she continued on, slinking through the mossy woods. Ahead on the trail she spotted a blotch of inky black, a color she'd quickly come to associate with her alphas and their children. Hoping for some sort of company she galloped towards the other wolf from behind, looking almost as if she were running away from something. "Misses Ava!" Sibyl barked in greeting, unaware that her hasty approach might be surprising to someone unsuspecting it. As she neared she slowed, head dipped in deference and scraggly tail curled slightly under. She'd never spent much time in the lady's presence, and only hoped her company in the storm wouldn't be shunned.

Ava Attaya

Beneath her feet the ground grew soft, the growing humidity in the air threatening soon to rain. Quillets of thunder in the sky set the rhythm to which the black-furred Queen wandered, following the border but not precisely. She took the fact that she could not distinguish leisure and work in this moment as a testament to her happiness, eager to explore the boundary as much as she was proud to mark it as her own. To her the hum of the impending storm was particularly peaceful. Culminate however it would she appreciated the slow crescendo.

Ava had assumed herself to be a woman alone during this quiet hour, finding that all scents of prey were recently departed on her route and assuming that the predators may have followed suit. She herself fancied a swim now and again but being drenched on the job was something she rarely tolerated - though today was such a rare occasion. To hear her name called out through the murky sky was a surprise, then, one which stopped her gait and perked her ears toward the source. To say she was shocked to see a russet-hued form swiftly approaching might've been an overstatement, but she certainly wasn't expecting it.

Ava cleared her throat, blinking away any flabberghast that might've appeared on her dark visage. "Sibyl," she greeted warmly, not turning a blind eye to the woman's hasty approach. "Is everything alright?" Fear wasn't permeating the air or anything, so maybe she'd just been out on a lovely mid-morning jog or something. Regardless Ava found herself exquisitely pleased to be presented with company. She was having a nice stroll, but a little conversation could only make it better. If something was the matter, they could discuss. If not, it would be nice to get to know her pack mates better. She let her quasi-expectant gaze fall upon the bronze-eyed wolf, eager to stop speculating and hear an answer.
