Caniri Callahan
@Miro I got a little carried away with my randomness. It tends to happen sometimes XD

Caniri regretted being so stupid. He had gone out with the intention of exploring the area and looking for food but sometime during his trip he had moved more into the exploration category and less in the food. Somehow he had ended up heading south east of Magnolia Glen. He didn't know where he was until he finally came across the red mountains. He must be in the place that they called Sierra Hills. He had heard of the place before, although the stories didn't do the scenery justice. Even through the snow, the sandy hills glowed scarlet in the sun, the afternoon light rebounding of the maroon soil. The sky looked pale in comparison to the ruby snow, and the trees stood in stark green contrast.

So why was he stupid? Upon seeing the majestic hills, he decided that he wanted to see what the world looked like from the top of them. He set out, working his way through the narrow passages and up the steep slopes. While it was a lot of work, it wasn't impossible. Had he been well fed and not feeling the harshness of the winter, Caniri probably wouldn't have had much trouble, but as it was, he found his weakened muscles fighting to do what they used to be able to. He had made it to the top and the view wasn't what he thought it would be. It was better. He could see the snow covered land of the Lore stretched out before him. Trees dotted the landscape, clumping together to form forests. In the distance was the misty form of the Mountain of Dire. Cold Water Creek wound through the forests and over the rocks, sparkling in places where animals had broken through it. It was breath taking.

So he was at the top now. The problem was getting back down. Caniri's muscles already protested the energy he had spent. In all reality, he shouldn't have. He didn't have the energy to spare with the food shortage but he couldn't resist the urge. He had felt a desire, a strange pull taking him up the hills. He had needed to see his new home like this. Sighing, Caniri resigned himself to the task ahead. He painstakingly picked his way over rocks and between cliffs as he slowly made his way back down. At one point, his paw punched through a layer of ice that he thought was over rock and really spanned over air. He was forced to scramble back in order to keep himself from plummeting into the space beyond. When it came to the smoother slopes Caniri found that if he was careful, he could just sit and slide his way down, using the snow to his advantage.

He was less than a hundred yards from he bottom and had decided to take one last slide to the end. Taking a small hop for momentum, he started down the side. Sitting in the snow, he slid, but rather than riding smoothly down the side like the other times, a hidden branch caught his foot, pulling his ass out from underneath of him and sending him head over heels. He tumbled down the side, the world swirling in whites and greys as it went from sky to snow. He tried desperately to right himself but it was in vain. Once he reached the bottom he crashed into a snow drift, causing him to be completely buried in snow. Without it, he no doubt would have broken something on the way down. He groaned. "Well, wasn't that just fan-fucking-tastic."

(sorry for the late reply. homework has been such a drag recently. ;c and sorry for my usual crap!)

He was burning. His heart beat heavily within his chest and his breath was quick and shallow. All that could be heard was the wind whizzing past his ear, faintly promising Miro itself its whole entirety. The lad's silver-tongue hung out of his mouth, tasting the fresh winter air and the hills that lay around him. To be allowed to go where he pleases was something that Miro took for granted in his old pack and his new pack. His eyes witnessed lands and packs when traveling towards this land where members were disciplined as if they were soldiers themselves. Not allowed to even step outside borders... He hated the mere thought of it, and seeing it was even worse.

He wasn't sure of the pack rules, but a little birdie told him he was allowed to leave the lands, as long as he had finished his pack duties. And Miro didn't need any other excuse to run if he wanted to run, that is - if it was allowed. He would always run as much as his legs allowed, to his limit, and until his legs burned and ached and until he could do no more - and then again the next day. Miro would now have to excuse his daily exercise for something else - the pack duties. As Triell said, he needed to prove himself.

Now, it was part of the exercise when he had to slow down to a steady jog, and he finally had the time to admire the beautiful land around him. The hills were something that had always caught his eye from a distance and now, up close it was no less breath-taking. The rugged hills cut through the sky like a dagger, the snow blanketing it and making it softer. "Heavens...what a gorgeous land." Miro murmured, muzzle high in the air as he took a deep breath in.

A whiff of something else struck the wolf. It wasn't the smell of the land but instead, a pack. Yes, he had heard of another pack residing not too far from the oak tree family. Miro did not know the smell of this other pack, but for sure it was not of his. Following the scent, he trotted lightly, hoping to meet someone new. His eyes wandered at the base of the hill to an odd lump, and upon gazing closer, it was a wolf! The white lad seemed unfamiliar at first, but as he trotted close the resemblance to a newer friend was undeniable. "Caniri...is that you?" Miro swore he should've heard something, but maybe his ears were failing him once more.

Caniri Callahan
Caniri wuffed out a frustrated breath through his nose, clearing his nostrils of snow. It figured that after sliding down those hills several times, he would have to trip in the home stretch. His muscles were sore, though not stiff. They were actually rather limber from that fall but he knew they wouldn't be by tomorrow morning. His body was almost completely buried in the snow drift and he wasn't sure whether he even wanted to move. It was going to be a walk back to the territory. You idiot. You burned too much energy that you didn't have to spare.

Caniri didn't catch the scent until it was almost right on top of him. It was foreign yet familiar, though he couldn't quite place it. It smelled of another pack. The one that lived in the neighboring area. It was also tinged with another smell, the scent of the individual and that was what smelled familiar. It wasn't until the voice rang through the air that he was able to make the connection. Hauling himself to his feet, Caniri turned and faced the other wolf. "Hey there, Miro. How ya been? Uh...how much of that did you see?" He trotted forward, ignoring his battered body, tail waving high. He was actually rather glad to see his friend again. It brought him some joy to know that he had one so close to home. He didn't lower his posture any, though he gave Miro a nod of respect. Caniri had always carried around his own form of standing and he was with a pack now, he lowered himself to no one but those above him. Besides, they were among friends here. "Have you any word on the Princess?" He said with a playful smirk.[/i]
