Angele Coldheart

@Anthem and @Nathaniel

Angele woke and stretched, gaping yawn flashing her white teeth to the world.  She padded to nearby lakeshore and waded in until her paws were submerged before bending to get a drink.  She felt different today, and it took a moment before she realized why: her shoulder didn’t hurt.  Surprised, Angele leaned on it. Nothing.  She finished lapping up her water and returned to the shore, where she proceeded to stretch again and slowly moved through a range of motions, testing.

Still nothing.

She began to move a little faster, not wanting to suddenly strain it but see what she could do.  She made it through her entire set of stretches and exercises without a pang, and finally relaxed.  It had been a little while, but not as long as she’d expected.  Just on time, too; with the pups moved to the communal den and wandering about, she would finally be allowed to pursue the position of beta.  She would need to practice first, though.  She’d been at least a month without any proper bouts or exercise due to her injury from the hunt, but now she would come back with full dedication.

Shaking out her fur, Angele trotted off to find @Nathaniel and @Anthem.  They would be the best for sparring; they’d never taken it easy on her.  It would be a good opportunity for her to strengthen her some-what weakened of late bond with her darker-furred sibling.  Wrestling always seemed to do the trick.  With a final roll of her shoulders, Angele once again entered the world of free motion.

Anthem ColdHeart
@Angele

With the pups living in the main den now Anthem had felt some tension leave him. The were near everyone else and would have the protection of the others in the pack and not just Namid anymore. But even with this he had been doing his extensive border patrolling as usual. Sometimes Des was there and sometimes he was accompanied by one of his siblings. Today he had done it alone which didn't bother him in the least. Going at a steady trot he found that the day was in full progression. He was nearing the lake and he slowed so that he could lap at the cool water, enjoying the freshness. When he had his fill he stood there for a moment looking across the lake. It was a beautiful place to live. A faint smile edged onto his face as he continued along the pack's border. Much slower this time as he was almost done and had to decide what he wanted to do afterward.

Should he go and hunt for something? It seemed the most likely choice for the rest of the day. He could get Nathaniel or Angele to go with him. Angele. How was her shoulder doing? After the first day or so of being near her constantly his duties had finally dragged him away. So his time with her had been pulled short. Now though he had time. Finishing the rest of the patrol he quickly made his way to the last spot he had seen her. He hadn't even made it there when he spotted a pale form moving through the trees. His path was diverted and he let out a soft woof to alert her of his presence as he made his way over a grin on his face. She was moving around more so that must mean she was feeling a little bit better.

Nathaniel ColdHeart
It seemed they were all of like mind today. As Anthem and Angele both considered seeking his presence, Nathaniel was on route to his siblings, having sniffed them both out in close proximity. He still knew little about how they were currently faring, and what their lives involved inside this new pack. Admittedly, he was being quite the awful brother as of late, yet it couldn't quite be helped. While he'd finally achieved his goal of tracking down his siblings, the finality of this settlement had gotten under his skin. Nathaniel was utterly unsure of his place in life now, and of what to do with himself every morning he awoke.

Still, when he was with his siblings, their presence worked its magic in holding him down, grounding him. Anthem came into view first, and then Angele, and the chocolate coated man let out a bark to let them know that he was joining them, a sound which chased his brother's own. He picked up his pace a bit, hurrying his way over.

"Hey guys," he greeted with a crooked smile. "How's the morning treatin' ya?"

OOC: Okay, so this is for more than just Angele's benefit; I've never used the fight system and have no idea how to do so.  If y'all could give me a hand, that'd be great!

She hadn’t been out long when she heard her brother’s soft noise announcing his presence.  She turned to him, pleased she didn’t have to search long. “How have you been?” She asked.  She hadn’t seen much of him lately, as she’d been mostly sedentary and he’d been kept busy by his duties. But now he appeared to be available and looking for her as well.  She was just about to ask him where he’d last seen their brother when he appeared as well, joining them.

Angele stared at him in mild surprise.  “How amusing.” She said as he approached.  “Here I was, looking for the two of you, and you both come find me.”  She gave them both a friendly nudge with her nose by way of greeting before answering Nathaniel’s question.

 “That’s exactly why I was looking for you.  My shoulder has finally finished healing, and I would like to advance to the rank of Beta.  I could use a bit of practice.  Mind helping me out?”  She eyed both of them.  She didn’t expect either of them to say no, though she knew asking would be polite.  Especially since Anthem’s duties often kept him so deprived of free time.

She was more than ready to get back into it and begin her regular exercises. Now she had her brothers to again help her improve.  They were the only ones she hadn’t been able to defeat without a long, tiresome battle.  They often ended their tussles at an impasse, though much had changed in the time since they’d been separated. She was eager to see where they stood.

Anthem ColdHeart

Hearing an echo to his vocalazation Anthem glanced in the diresction of the sound grinning when he saw Nathaniel coming over. They hadn't all been together since their brother's joining with Anthem being away doing the duties he needed to do as a Guardian and as beta. He felt slightly guilty about that but he couldn't really do anything about it unless he gave up one or the other or even both, but that wasn't going happen. He greeted Angele with a nudge of the nose and Nathaniel with a shoulder bump. It's been going fine for me. Anthem told them his tail swaying behind him. One brow raised when their sister admitted that she had been looking for them. This might be interesting then. Anthem thought to himself.

As Angele spoke anthem found his ears going forward with interest. Help her get in practice again? They hadn't sparred in what seemed like forever and he found himself looking forward to it. This would help keep him on his toes and give him a chance to see how their skills were after being apart so long. His grin widened as he let out a chuckle. Of course I'll help you get back in shape, but don't get upset if you lose. His voice was teasing and though he was playing but to be honest he honestly didn't know where they all stood skill wise anymore. This would give them that opportunity to test that. He then glance at Nathaniel asking with a questioning look if he wanted to join in on the action. This was going to be fun.

Nathaniel ColdHeart
sorry guys D:

She'd been looking for them? Nathaniel found himself cocking his head to the side, curiosity shining bright. She spoke swiftly to explain herself, and the man was reminded against just how deeply his siblings had woven themselves into the dynamics of this pack. He had nearly forgotten that his brother was second in the hierarchy, and now Angele wanted to advance to the same elevated position? His siblings had always been ambitious, but something in him felt a little bit... crestfallen at the idea. Perhaps, though he would not admit to himself for that would only bring him closer to one day having to admit it to them, it was because the more important they became to the pack the more definite it was that they would stay here forever.

He had been fully willing to give up his freedom to be with his family, and he was not about to take back that oath. Yet he couldn't help but yearn for his nomadic life, and wish that perhaps one day Anthem and Angele would be willing to move on and travel.

Rooting his hindquarters upon the earth, he let a carefree grin ease over his maw as he remarked, "Go on you two, I'll be your referee."
