@Balthazar  if anyone wants to join please pm me.

She thought she was having mood swings. Mother Nature seemed to be having a few of her own. It had been rather warm the start of the day, a sure sign of the coming spring. Now, it felt like a storm was coming, and she hoped it would pass her by. Despite her new uncomfortable temperature, she liked to see the snow begin to melt, see a little less white. Think what may come in the time ahead. She liked the Fields for the most part, but she couldn't imagine staying there the rest of her life. She continued her travel, scoping out the different dips and rises of the land. It was sorta like home, but she felt like she could take a wrong step here. Was there another pack? Her father had spoken of a few in his days here.

The air began to feel more like a chill, and the sunshine gave away to dark, gray clouds. It would do her no good to turn around. The fields were out of reach, and in this place she wondered if there was any shelter to be found. She may just have to camp under the best tree, and wait till it passed.

It only become colder, and instead of rain the sky began to let down snow. She knew flakes could get big in an instant. She muttered a string of cursings under her breath. This is what she got for leaving the safety of the fields. Hey, at least it wasn't as bad as it had been that one day. Not yet, she silently reminded herself. It could always get worse.

The beast was in a rather churlish mood. The cedar pack wolves seemed to be keen on playing games with him, even to the detriment of the woman he'd captured. Maybe he'd overestimated her importance to them? Balthazar could wait them out a little bit, though perhaps if he brought back a piece of Oula's ear or even her tail, they might realize he was serious on his threats. However, upon checking the pit he had thrown her in, it was clear it was empty. It was hard to tell when she had made it out, and he hoped she hadn't found her way back to her pack yet. He looked around for her a bit, trying to figure out which way she'd gone.

Yet distractions were plentiful, and the scent of a female in heat was an irresistible beacon to the brute. Balthazar inhaled deeply with his jaws parted, practically tasting the air as he trailed after her musk with dogged determination. He prowled from the fields to the coverage of the trees, just in time for the heavy snows to start. Such a small annoyance couldn't stop him though, and the auburn coated male persisted on.

In a land of dark timber and white snow, the female nearly blended in with the surroundings. From a distance, she looked to be of appropriate lineage. He approached with a saunter in his step, intent on working his best charms on the woman. But as he came closer, it became clear she was little more than a mutt, fine timber blood muddied. A sneer worked across his broad face as he stopped before her, turning to the side and half looking at her with one beady yellow eye, as if he couldn't bear to look directly at her. "A shame, if it wasn't for that mud blood I'd have said you were attractive." He spat, losing all sense of manners now that he wasn't trying to get something out of her.

Eyes searched for shelter in vein. There wasn't a tree old enough to do her much good. She decided to back track, she thought she might have passed one.

With the snowfall she didn't know she was being trailed. What a hell of one she was leaving. She'd roll in a dead skunk if someone told her it would help. Unfortunately, there was little way to hide her current state. Maybe, she better go back. Make herself a new den where she'd lock herself up.

It was easy to spot an auburn coat against the lack of color the landscape provided coming at her. This one seemed to have quite the stride. She wondered if there was only one thing that appealed to him. Ready to find out she held her ground, for the moment her stance neutral,if it were any other day.

The brute drew near it didn't take much to see his demeanor change in a blink of an eye. Maybe, she wasn't appealing now up close. She thought he'd walk away, but he seemed to have other ideas. To say precisely what made the difference.

Sh'd been insulted, but mud blood was a new one to her. She'd never really thought her gene pool here nor there. How could she ignore his sentence, a compliment poisoned with insult. Wasn't he just a fat deer full of worms. She didn't want to give him any satisfaction. A smile perched on her lips as if delightfully surprised.

"Awe, what a fine gentleman to be so blunt. Almost got my hopes up. Guess my mother was right. No man will see me as worth having. I just thought it'd be cause of my mouth. " Now her gold eyes met his a dare there. She was eager to strike, only she wasn't sure which instinct yelled the most. Or if she was hopeful he'd leave her instead of giving her reason to do more than walk off.

TW for Balthazar being a victim blamey shit

Balthazar bared his fangs, a cruel grin on his lips. What a smarmy little mouth on this one. His insult only earned him a smile. He meant to cut deeply, not merely irritate.  Her golden eyes met his in a clear challenge, and he felt a surge of something dark and bitter within him. As if it was her fault that he'd been lured here by her scent, and her fault again that she wasn't even worth it the trek out here. He blinked the falling snow from his eyes, his breath curling white tendrils in the cold air as he panted. "Oh, I'm far from a gentleman," He said softly as he set into motion. The brute's paws pressed over the snow and his wide shoulders rolled in a prowling gait as he rounded towards her, like a lion on the hunt.

"Just didn't want you to get the wrong impression of your worth," He said with beady yellow eyes narrowed, watching the female like a hawk. His ears twisted, listening for the approach of anyone else, but it sounded like they were alone. He began to work a slow circle around her, trying to corner the mongrel. "Your scent, it sickens me." He growled, punctuated by a snap of his teeth.

No worries. @Balthazar is an interesting villain. Nice to get out of the box. I don't know if you want to do rolls? Or just have them tussle?

Remi thought she noted displeasure on his part. Why wouldn't he be? She hadn't given the wanted reaction. Taking such a thing directly to her heart, would have made it more fun for her tormentor. No, he would have to pick her apart to find vulnerable things. Maybe, he planned to. She wasn't about to take his sharpened grin lightly. She was quite aware he was nothing of the word. The way he began to stalk her as a feline, she felt her nerves go awry. A memory pulled, and tugged on. Forcefully she ground her teeth. She was not a little cub any more.

The silver wolf did her best not turn her back on this one. But, his open disgust made her hair suddenly bristle. "That makes two of us," she murmured. He had come all this way to find a wolf not worth courting, and disappointment didn't seem to cover what she was witnessing. Her heart quickened, and lifted against its cage. As if it could escape with a small surge of adrenaline. Running wasn't an option. She pushed against the fear coiling in her gut, and took the first lunge, wanting to give response with her teeth.

@Remington Yikes sorry for the wait!

Balthazar's broad maw only broke in a sickening smile at the female's quip. He had hoped to shatter her self confidence, push her to run or shrink. He wanted to see the worthless mutt cowering at his paws. He wanted to break her. Instead, she stood defiantly, and it only made his blood boil further. So she thought she was tough, then? As the beast circled around her he looked for an opening, but she was keen to his game, turning to face him at every moment. And it was she who made the first move.

Balthazar stopped his pacing and turned to fully face her as he saw the slight change in her stance and shift in her weight. She was quick, but truth be told, he didn't do much to dodge out of the way. The male squared his stance, digging his paws into the snow and ducking his head down to protect his vitals. He winced as her teeth grasped into the skin of his shoulder, a rough snarl weaving through his bared fangs. He let her hang on, using the proximity to throw his forelimbs towards her and push her off balance, yellowed fangs seeking any soft flesh he could reach.
