To say the boy had a horrible sense of direction was an understatement. He thought he'd left his brother and @Maia around here somewhere but what he didn't realise, was that he had left them somewhere over his shoulder and not in the direction he was travelling. His attention however, was easily swayed as a strange scent crossed his nose, not terribly unpleasant but telling of many others that came and went this way as they pleased. Something deep down told him he should be cautious, but the years of conditioning to play nice with others overruled any instinct and already his silver tail was waving high over his back.
His snuffling had increased in pace and volume too, eyes focused on the slush and mud beneath his paws as he weaved after the trails this way and that. The sound of movement ahead was enough to solicit an excited bark from the boy as he bounded towards the stranger, intent on getting the first butt-sniff in, as he had been taught was polite to do. He wanted to leave a good impression on any potential new friends, and surely showing just how happy he was to have company was the very best way to go about it!
