Her world consisted of her mama, her brother, the safety of then den and sometimes her daddy. She knew each member of her family primarily through scent but now by vague colors as her vision began to improve. The den was becoming increasingly less fun and the bright light was becoming much more enticing. The tiny Artemieva would always try to get past her mother and escape the den, crying in protest when she was stopped.
Today Vasilisa was determined to make it through the bright light no matter what. Mama had just left her and Nikolai in the den going through the forbidden light. Short stubby brown legs lifted her pudgy body and wobbled a bit before finding balance. She padded as quickly as she could to the light not caring what her brother was doing. She stopped short of the entrance being excited to simply be this close.
Her coal nose gave the light barrier a quick sniff before she turned herself around. Unsure of what was on the other side Vasi didn’t want to face it head on. So, she turned herself around and stuck her rear end over the barrier first. Not feeling anything, she gave her back legs a quick wiggle. Continuing to not feel anything excitement filled her as she reeled backwards into the world.
Being only three weeks old the girl didn’t have very good walking skills so she naturally went tumbling. She giggled as she came to a stop. Opening her puppy blue eyes she quickly shut them again from the overwhelming brightness. Quickly she got over it and began to adjust to the sunlight. Vasilisa sat in wonder as she took in all the sights around her. Her tiny maw was open with a childish smile as her tail thudded against the ground. So this is what’s out here.
