Her itchy paws had brought her north, into the old growth of the Cedarwood. The smell of mixed pine and hardwood trees filled her nose, bringing a faint nostalgia that she hadn’t quite expected. These woods were much easier to traverse than the Thickets, with tall, straight trunks standing at good distances, the floor covered only by old needles and leaf-litter under the snow. Like so many times before, Flair wondered why her birth pack had chosen the far more cluttered forest to the north, but then; I guess this area was taken…

Without exactly planning to, the fiery shewolf had wandered right into the center of what was once Grizzly Hollow. This had been the home of their closest neighbors and allies, back in the day, and a place where the young Flair had first tried, and mostly failed, to make friends. Still, there was no bitterness in her as she investigated the area, peaking into the old back den, which smelled worryingly of bear. Instead she thought of her old day trips, developing her own independence and causing trouble for the Woodlands and Hollow both. It was cathartic really, remembering the past, for what it was, good and bad; It feels like a lifetime ago!

Vareth Archer-Lyall

If you know what I know that I know

It's been a long time comin

Vareth had been here before when he was rather young. His grandparents had found this place and it had been his father's home for a short while until a nasty plague had come, frightening the Lyalls away. It had a lot of history, and was the beginning of the Archer-Lyall relationship. His maternal grandmother having also been long part of the Hollow before leaving to form Willow Ridge.

Look at it now.

It was rather pathetic how empty it was, but he liked it much better than the grove. It didn't make him feel...unsettled. In fact maybe he should have come here sooner. Now where had the old den been? He'd remembered that part the best cause it had been a grizzly bear's first, giving the pack it's name. It took him sometime traversing through the thicker part of the forest, to find the little creek, and than where it had once stood.

The place wasn't empty, he laid eye upon a bright colored coat of a female standing not far from it. Ok, he hadn't expected that. But it was obvious even she wasn't living here. Maybe she had her own connections here. Or with the color of her fur could she be a relative? Was only one way to be sure. "Hello," he offered, keeping his posture neutral while striding a bit closer. Cautious, but not afraid.

She hadn’t expected company here, so the sound of movement in the snow made her spin in place, every hair on her body standing on end. The first glimpse of brown fur among the trees sent a spark of panic through her, the scent of bear still fresh in her nostrils. But a voice soon called out, and she sighed audibly, relief making her hackles settle against her neck once more.

The stranger was large and dark-furred, but as he came closer, it was quite obvious that it was a wolf. A male by the scent, finally permeating the bear-musk in her nose, with bright eyes of differing colors and a pelt that lightened under his chin and belly. Flair watched his approach cautiously, though the settling of her initial fright made her more amiable, tail giving a slow swish along the height of her back. “Hey,” she answered casually, then, as the relief continued to flood her with mirth, she smiled crookedly; “I thought y’ were a bear!”
