Despite the rest that his aching body had screamed for after the long journey
home and the obviously withheld drilling he knew her father wanted to give him on all that had happened, Galen couldn't bring himself to find such solace anywhere but outside the infirmary that currently housed his best friend. A need to still protect her even now when surely she was at her
safest flowing strongly in every fiber of his being. Similar in the way he had served as a shadowy guardian outside the den back in the Falls the swarthy boy took up the same here and now while allowing small bouts of sleep to relieve his heavy eyes only once Nash had come to take over.
Magg had been out for awhile now and the yearling couldn't blame the poor girl, the time guarding her passed by continuously filling both Nash and Aquene in with all that happened in segments. How there was someone out there attempting to pick off Cove members, adding his personal assumption that the Backwater could be behind it given their fall out. The obvious injury and lack of proper medical attention she needed despite Chan's efforts. How the Falls had time after time brushed their urgent request to send word home to the side. There was still so much more that needed to be told, but Galen felt
those parts were best heard from Magg herself whenever she finally stirred.
With her father currently settled on the opposite side of the infirmary, Galen had found a few fleeting minutes to bring his eyes to a close and gain some more rest his body needed only to be jolted awake abruptly hearing Magg's raspy voice down below. The older man was faster to delve into the den than himself and as such he opted to keep watch, albeit kept his attention partly honed in on them. There at a moments notice if needed.
